David, did you define the epsg the WMS should be valid for in the wms metadata section ? Should be like this: 'WMS_SRS' 'epsg:23030 epsg:25830' If you have the direct getMap request and you didn't do the above, mapserver reports an error like "projection library error. no system list, errno: 2" Regards, Till Hi everyone! I have some problems to reproject WMS service from ETRS89 to ED5030 in tools like ArcGis or gvSIG. I´ve defined all the layers with PROJECTION 25830 (ETRS89). As majority knows there is an internal mapserver´s file called epsg (\ms4w\proj\nad) where It´s possible to define diferents reprojections. The definition line to define reprojection from ED5030 to ETRS89 is the following one in my server: <23030> +proj=utm +zone=30 +ellps=intl +towgs84=-87,-98,-121,0,0,0,0 +units=m +nadgrids=sped2et.gsb +no_defs <> Therefore I suppose I have to change this line to inverse reprojection (from ETRS89 to ED5030): <25830> +proj=utm +zone=30 +ellps=GRS80 +units=m +no_defs <> ,but I have no clue about it. Re: [mapserver-users] analysis web using Map Server
Dear Gito, UMN is not a real "GIS application" itsself, UMN is more capable for showing processed GIS data in the internet. There are some possibilities to interact with PostGIS, but if you really want to interpolate data from points to surfaces, you should think about using a GIS in your backend (e.g. GRASS, which supports a PHP, python (and some others based) interface to web-applications). As an example we use GRASS as backend so that users may interpolate time-series of measured soil-moisture data and present this data via UMN Mapserver in an OpenLayers based client. So, what you need is an architecture, not purely UMN. Correct me, if I'm wrong... -) Hope this points you in a direction Till Hi all, I am just introduced to Map Server, I've developed a web server with Fedora 7 and would like to develop a tool for map analysis in web by using Map Server.. Re: [mapserver-users] Need shape files
Milo, great - I would have bet you are American ;-) -->http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=31.5836903251737&mlon=36.535194397&zoom=7 Amit, see "gisdatadepot.com" as a point to start for downloading rough (and probaly not up-to-date) Geodata countrywise. In OpenStreetmap there is poor information about Jordan. Regards, Till Hello Amit, I can provide a variety of GIS data, but what or where is JORDAN? Please give me some details. Another thing you can do is install one of the opensource Desktop GIS (uDig, OpenJump, QuantumGIS) and create your own data. Kind regards, Milo van der Linden amit tripathi schreef: Hi, I need to get shape files for JORDAN(preferably open source for testing purpose). Please guide me from where i can find these? Re: [mapserver-users] Linux installation
Hans Castorp schrieb: Hi to all, Until now I was using mapserver only under Windows environments but now I need to change to a Linux platform. My knowledge about Linux is very limited, so I will need some help: Is there any distribution recommended in order to run mapserver over it?? Is there any tutorial or manual explaining how to install mapserver 5 w/postgis over Linux?? Thanks in advance. Hans Castorp No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. There are some "HowTo's" explaining step by step installation of mapserver under different linux distributions on the mapserver homepage: http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/docs/howto see "compilation" There are not all really up-to date, but as a borderline, they are good enough. If you want to hear my advice as well - Ubuntu or Debian is quite easy to install.
