ವಂದೇ ಮಾತರಂ… ಸುಜಲಾಂ ಸುಫಲಾಂ ಮಲಯಜ ಶೀತಲಾಂ ಸಸ್ಯ ಶ್ಯಾಮಲಾಂ ಮಾತರಂ ವಂದೇ ಮಾತರಂ…. “ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಹಾರ್ದಿಕ ಶುಭಾಷಯಗಳು” ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ…(Wikipedia ದಿಂದ ಕದ್ದಿದ್ದು) ಭಾರತೀಯ ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷದ ಜನವರಿ ೨೬ ರ೦ದು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುವ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆ. ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸ೦ವಿಧಾನ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ಬ೦ದು ಭಾರತ ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು ಜನವರಿ ೨೬, ೧೯೫೦ ರ೦ದು. ಇದರ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ಈ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಜನವರಿ ೨೬ ಭಾರತದಾದ್ಯ೦ತ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ರಜಾ ದಿನ. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ, ಪ್ರೌಢ ಶಾಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದರ ಪ್ರಯುಕ್ತ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು೦ಟು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನವದೆಹಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತ ಸಶಸ್ತ್ರ ಪಡೆಗಳ ಪ್ರಭಾತಪೇರಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ ೧೫ ೧೯೪೭ರಂದು ಭಾರತ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರವಾದ ನಂತರ ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ ೨೯ರಂದು ಡಾ. ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಅವರ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರಡು ಸಮಿತಿಯ ನೇಮಕಾತಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಸಮಿತಿಯು ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಕರಡು ಪ್ರತಿಯನ್ನು ತಯಾರಿಸಿ ನವೆಂಬರ್ ೪ ೧೯೪೭ರಂದು ಶಾಸನಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಂಡಿಸಿತು. ಅನೇಕ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ಮತ್ತು ತಿದ್ದುಪಡಿಗಳ ನಂತರ ಜನವರಿ ೨೬ ೧೯೫೦ರಂದು ಭಾರತದ ಸಂವಿಧಾನ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿತು. ಭಾರತದ ಸ್ವಾತ೦ತ್ರ್ಯ ಚಳುವಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನವರಿ ೨೬, ೧೯೩೦ ರ೦ದು ಭಾರತ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಕಾ೦ಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪೂರ್ಣ ಸ್ವರಾಜ್ಯದ ಧ್ಯೇಯವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಕೊ೦ಡಿತ್ತು. ಲಾಹೋರ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಕಾ೦ಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಅಧಿವೇಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ನಿರ್ಧಾರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊ೦ಡು ಈ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣ ಸ್ವರಾಜ್ಯ ದಿನ ಎ೦ದು ಘೋಷಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಇದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ಸ್ವಾತ೦ತ್ರ್ಯಾನ೦ತರ ಭಾರತದ ಸ೦ವಿಧಾನವನ್ನು ಈ ದಿನದ೦ದೇ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತರಲಾಯಿತು. ಏನಿದು ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯ? ಎಂದು ಪೂರ್ತಿ ದಿನ ತಲೆ ಕೆಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಗೂಗಲ್ ದೇವರ ಮೊರೆ ಹೋದೆ. ಭಾರತದ ಸಂವಿಧಾನ (the Covnstitution of India) ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ಭಾರತೀಯರು ಕಳೆದ ೬೭ ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಆಚರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿರುವ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹಬ್ಬ ಜನವರಿ ೨೬ ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವ ನಮಗೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವಂಥಹುದೇ. ಆದರೆ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ನನಗೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಆಡಳಿತ/ ರಾಜ್ಯಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯ ಪದದ ನಿಜವಾದ ಅರ್ಥ ಅಷ್ಟಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಆ ಕುತೂಹಲದಿಂದಲೇ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸಮಯ ಹೊಂದಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ವಿಕಿಯಾದಿಯಾಗಿ ಗೂಗಲಿಸಿ ಒಂದಿಷ್ಟು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಕಲೆ ಹಾಕಿದೆ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನೇ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಶಿ ಹಾಕಲು ಹೊರಟಿರುವೆನು. ಅಮೇರಿಕಾದ ಎರಡು ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳೆಂದರೆ ಡೆಮಾಕ್ರೆಟಿಕ್ ಮತ್ತು ರಿಪಬ್ಲಿಕ್ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳು. ಅವೆರಡರ ತತ್ವ ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತಗಳು ತದ್ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾದವುಗಳೇ. ಆದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಭಾರತ ಡೆಮಾಕ್ರೆಟಿಕ್ ಮತ್ತು ರಿಪಬ್ಲಿಕ್ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ (ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವ ಮತ್ತು ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯ). ಪ್ರಜಾಪ್ರಭುತ್ವವೆಂದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವಂತೆ " ಜನರಿಂದ, ಜನರಿಗಾಗಿ, ಜನರಿಂದಲೇ ನಡೆಯುವ ಸರ್ಕಾರ", ಅಂದರೆ ಜನರ ಒಳಿತಿಗಾಗಿ ಶ್ರಮಿಸುವ ಚುನಾಯಿತ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವುದೇ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಚುನಾಯಿಸಿದ ಮತದಾರರಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಯನ್ನು ವಿರೋಧಿಸುವ / ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಯು ಜಾರಿಗೆ ತಂದ ಕಾನೂನುಗಳನ್ನು ತಡೆಹಿಡಿಯುವ ಅಧಿಕಾರವಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಸರಕಾರ ಜನರ ಶ್ರೇಯೋಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗಾಗಿ ದುಡಿಯಬೇಕು ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಜನರನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಇಷ್ಟಾರ್ಥಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಡೆಮಾಕ್ರೆಸಿಯ ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯವೇ ಸರಿ. ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯವೆಂದರೆ ಒಂದು ಸಂವಿಧಾನ ಅಥವಾ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಗೆ (ಸರಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ) ಒಳಪಟ್ಟೆರುವಂಥದ್ದು ಆಡಳಿತ ವಂಶ ಪಾರಂಪರ್ಯವಾಗಿರದೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಚುನಾಯಿತ ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತವರ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಿಂದ ಅತ್ಯುನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಾನವಾದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಪತಿ (ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಒಡೆಯ) ಚುನಾವಣೆ. (A republic is a form of government in which the country is considered a "public matter" (Latin: res publica), not the private concern or property of the rulers, and where offices of state are subsequently directly or indirectly elected or appointed rather than inherited ). ಆದರೆ ಸದ್ಯದ/ ಮುಂದಿನ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿದರೆ ಎರಡೂ ಪದಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ನಿಜಾರ್ಥಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಪರಿಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನೇ ಬದಲಿಸಲು ಹೊರಟಿರುವುದು ಭಾರತ ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ದುರಂತವೇ ಸರಿ. ಆಗಷ್ಟ್ ೧೫-೧೯೪೭ರ್ಂದು ಪಾಕಿಸ್ಥಾನವೆಂಬ ದಾಯಾದಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಭಾರತ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ದೇಶವಾಗಿ ರೂಪ ತಾಳಿತಾದರೂ, ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಕಾಯಿದೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪಂಡಿತ್ ಜವಹರಲಾಲ್ ನೆಹರು ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಡಳಿತ ನಡೆಸುವ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯತೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿತ್ತು. ದೇಶ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರವಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರ ಕಾಯಿದೆ ಕಾನೂನುಗಳು ಜಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವು. ಅಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಭಾರತ ಕಿಂಗ್ ಜಾರ್ಜ್ ೬ ಮತ್ತು ಲಾರ್ಡ್ ಮೌಂಟ್ ಬ್ಯಾಟನ್ ರ ಅಡಿಯಾಳಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಆಗಷ್ಟ್ ೨೮-೧೯೪೭ರಂದು ಡಾ. ಬಿ. ಆರ್. ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂವಿಧಾನ ರಚನೆಗಾಗಿ ಕರಡು ಸಮಿತಿಯನ್ನು ರಚಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಆ ಸಮಿತಿಯು ನವೆಂಬರ್ ೪-೧೯೪೭ರಂದೇ ಭಾರತದ ಸ0ಸತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕರಡು ಸಂವಿಧಾನವನ್ನು ಮಂಡಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಆದರೂ ಅಸೆಂಬ್ಲಿಯ ೩೦೮ ಸದಸ್ಯರ ಸುಮಾರು ೧೬೬ ದಿನಗಳ ಚರ್ಚೆಯ ಅನಂತರ ಅನೇಕ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ, ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆಗಳ ನಂತರ ಅಂದರೆ ೨ ವರ್ಷ ೧೧ ತಿಂಗಳು ೧೮ ದಿನಗಳ ತರುವಾಯ ನವೆಂಬರ್ ೨೬-೧೯೪೯ರಂದು ಎರಡು ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಸಂವಿಧಾನ (Constitution of India) ಸರ್ವಸಮ್ಮತವಾಗಿ ಅನುಮೋದಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು. ೧೯೩೦ ಜನವರಿ ೨೬ ರ ಲಾಹೋರಿನ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಸ್ವರಾಜ್ಯದ ಸವಿ ನೆನಪಿಗಾಗಿ ಇನ್ನೆರಡು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳ ನಂತರ ಭಾರತ ತನ್ನದೇ ಆದ ಸ್ವಂತ ಸಂವಿಧಾನದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಭಾರತ ಗಣರಾಜ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು. ಈ ಸಂವಿಧಾನವು ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ‍ಗಳ ಸಂವಿಧಾನಗಳ ಕೂಲಂಕಷ ಅಧ್ಯಯನದ ಫಲವಾಗಿ ರಚಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ವಿಶ್ವದ ಅತಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಕಾಯಿದೆಗಳ ಭಂಡಾರವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ೩೯೭ ಆರ್ಟಿಕಲ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ೧೨ ಶೆಡ್ಯೂಲ್ಸ್ ಗಳು ಪ್ರತಿಯೋರ್ವ ಭಾರತೀಯನ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯದ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಗೆ ಕಟಿ ಬದ್ಧವಾದವುಗಳು. ಬ್ರಿಟನ್ನಿನ "ಸಂಸತ್ ಸ್ವರೂಪದ ಸರಕಾರ", ಅಮೇರಿಕಾದ "ಸರ್ವೋಚ್ಛ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಂಗ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ", ಕೆನೆಡಾದ "ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕೃತ ಫೆಡೆರಲ್ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸ್ವರೂಪದ ಸರಕಾರ", ಐರ್ಲೆಂಡಿನ "ನಿರ್ದೇಶಾತ್ಮಕ ತತ್ವಗಳು (directive principles of state policy), ಆಸ್ಟ್ರೇಲಿಯಾದ "ಸಮಕಾಲೀನ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಸಹಕಾರದ ಆಡಳಿತ ಹಂಚಿಕೆ", ಜಪಾನಿನ "ನ್ಯಾಯ ಬದ್ಧ ಪೋಲೀಸ್ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ" ಮುಂತಾದ ಅಂಶಗಳು ಭಾರತದ ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ವಿಶ್ವರೂಪದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿವೆ. ಹೀಗೆ ಬೇರೆ ಬೇರೆ ಸಂವಿಧಾನಗಳ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಅಂಶಗಳೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಕ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಈ ಸಂಗ್ರಹವು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾನವೀಯ ನಾಗರೀಕ ನೀತಿ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಹಿಡಿಯುವಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಹಿಂದೇಟು ಹಾಕಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಂವಿಧಾನದೊಂದಿಗೇ ಭಾರತೀಯರಿಗೆ ಉಡುಗೊರೆಯಾಗಿ ದೊರೆತದ್ದು ತಮ್ಮ ಹಕ್ಕು ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ತವ್ಯಗಳು. ಇಂದಿಗೂ ಪ್ರತಿ ಭಾರತೀಯನ ಹೃದಯ ಮತ್ತು ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ದೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ತನ್ನ ಜನಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಮಕಾರ ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದು ಕೇವಲ ಮೇಲಿನ ಮೂರು ಅಂಶಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ಎನ್ನಬಹುದು. ಭಾರತ ಸಂವಿಧಾನ ದೇಶದ ಆಡಳಿತವನ್ನು ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕೃತ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರಕಾರವೆಂಬ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುಗೆಯಾಗಿ ಸುಲಲಿತ ಆಡಳಿತವನ್ನು ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿರಿಸಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿದೆ. 'ಊಟವಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೂ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವರ್ಧಕಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಲಾರೆವು' ಎಂಬುದೇ ಇಂದಿನ ಯುವಜನಾಂಗದ ಮಂತ್ರ! ಯುವಕ-ಯುವತಿಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ಆದಾಯದ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವರ್ಧಕಗಳಿಗೆ ಖರ್ಚು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅಜೀರ್ಣೇ ಭೇಷಜಂ ವಾರಿ ಚಿಂತನ - (ಮೆಂಡಲ್ ತಂಡದಿಂದ-ರಚನ ೩ ತರಬೇತಿ ಡಯಟ್ ಯಾದಗಿರಿ) 21-01-2016; ಊಟದ ವೇಳೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಯಾವಾಗ, ಎಷ್ಟು ಕುಡಿಯಬೇಕು ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಅನೇಕರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಕೆಲವರು ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಮುನ್ನ, ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಊಟದ ನಂತರ ಧಾರಾಳವಾಗಿ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕೆಲವರು ಊಟದ ನಡು ನಡುವೆ ಕುಡಿದು ಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕೆಲವರು ಹೆದರಿ ಭೋಜನದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರನ್ನೇ ಕುಡಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ನಾರು, ಮಜ್ಜಿಗೆ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ನೀರಿನ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಇದೆಯಲ್ಲ ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಂತೂ ನೀರಿನ ಹಿತ – ಮಿತ ಬಳಕೆಯ ಕುರಿತು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾದ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಕೊಡುವವರು ವಿರಳ. ಆದರೆ ಚಾಣಕ್ಯ ನೀತಿ ದರ್ಪಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾದ ನಿಲುವು ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗಿದೆ: ‘ಅಜೀರ್ಣೇಭೇಷಜಂ ವಾರಿ, ಜೀರ್ಣೇವಾರಿ ಬಲಪ್ರದಂ! ಭೋಜನೇಚಾಮೃತಂ ವಾರಿ, ಭೋಜನಾಂತೇ ವಿಷಪ್ರದಂ’. ಅಂದರೆ ಅಧಿಕ ಭೋಜನ ಅಥವಾ ಅಜೀರ್ಣ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರು ಔಷಧದಂತೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಉಂಡ ಆಹಾರವು ಜೀರ್ಣವಾದ ಬಳಿಕ ನೀರು ಬಲಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಭೋಜನದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರಿನ ಸೇವನೆ ಅಮೃತ ಸಮಾನ. ಆದರೆ ಭೋಜನದ ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜಲಪಾನ ಮಾಡುವುದು ವಿಷಪ್ರದ. ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಆರೋಗ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಜಲಪಾನ ತುಂಬ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು ಎಂಬುದರ ಬಗೆಗೆ ಎರಡು ಮಾತಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ನೀರನ್ನೇ ಅತಿಯಾಗಿ ಸೇವಿಸುವುದು ಗುಣಕಾರಿಯಲ್ಲ. ಅದೇ ರೀತಿ ನೀರು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದರಿಂದ ದೋಷ ಬಂದೀತೇನೋ ಎಂಬ ಸಂದೇಹದಿಂದ ಜಲಪಾನವನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡದಿರುವುದು ಕೂಡ ದೋಷವೇ ಆಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಊಟದ ನಡುನಡುವೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಜಲ ಸೇವನೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಅತ್ಯವಶ್ಯ ಎಂದು ನೀತಿಕಾರರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇದನ್ನೇ ವಾಗ್ಭಟ, ಸುಶ್ರುತ, ಭಾವಮಿಶ್ರ ಪಂಡಿತ ಮುಂತಾದ ಆಯುರ್ವೇದ ಪರಿಣತರು ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕವಾಗಿ ಸಮರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ವಾಗ್ಭಟಾಚಾರ್ಯರ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಭೋಜನದ ನಡುವೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾಗಿ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದರಿಂದ ಸಪ್ತಧಾತುಗಳು (ರಸ, ರಕ್ತ, ಮಾಂಸ, ಮೇದಸ್ಸು, ಮಜ್ಜೆ, ಅಸ್ಥಿ, ಶುಕ್ಲ) ಸಮಾನತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುತ್ತವೆ. ತತ್ ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗಿ ಶರೀರವು ಮಿತಿಮೀರಿ ತೆಳ್ಳಗೂ ಆಗದೆ, ಅತಿಯಾಗಿ ದಪ್ಪಗೂ ಆಗದೆ ಸಮಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುತ್ತವೆ. ಊಟಕ್ಕೆ ಮುನ್ನ ನೀರು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಜ್ವಲಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ಜಠರಾಗ್ನಿಯು ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಮಂದವಾಗಿ ಆಹಾರದ ಪಚನಕ್ರಿಯೆಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಂಟಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಮಂದಾಗ್ನಿಯಿಂದ ಪಾಕಗೊಂಡ ಆಹಾರ ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳು ರಸೋತ್ಪತ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಲಾರವು. ರಸಾಭಾವದಿಂದ ಧಾತುಗಳು ಕ್ಷೀಣಗೊಳ್ಳುವುದರಿಂದ ಪುಷ್ಟವಾಗಬೇಕಾದ ಶರೀರವು ದಿನೇ ದಿನೇ ಕ್ಷೀಣವಾಗುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇನ್ನು ಊಟವಾದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ನೀರು ಸೇವಿಸಿದರೆ ಏನಾಗುತ್ತದೆ? ಆಮಾಶಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಫದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವು ಅಧಿಕಗೊಂಡು ಅದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮವಾಗಿ ಶರೀರವು ಸ್ಥೂಲಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಾಗಂತ ಭೋಜನಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದೆರಡು ಗುಟುಕು ನೀರು ಕುಡಿದರೆ ದೋಷವಾಗಲಾರದು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಮಂದಾಗ್ನಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೃಶತ್ವ ತರುವ ಮೊದಲ ಪಾನವನ್ನೂ, ಶ್ಲೇಷ್ಮಾಧಿಕ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಥೂಲತೆ ತರುವ ಕೊನೆಯ ಪಾನವನ್ನೂ ತಜ್ಞ ವೈದ್ಯರು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿರುವುದು ಸಮಂಜಸವಾಗಿದೆ. :- ಅರ್ತಿಕಜೆ Regards ERANNA V -- 1.
