Re: [MCN-L] exhibit installation

2018-06-22 Thread Watson, Whitney
Matt,
We've gone through a number of tapes before hitting on the right combination.
We put painters tape on the wall first, press it down firmly and then apply a
double-sided tape. This combination holds well during the run of the show and
has little if any wall damage at deinstallation.

Best,
Whitney

Hello--

I'm looking for leads on a good 2-sided tape for mounting posters or placards
in an exhibition space. Criteria would be the obvious paradox:
great holding strength but easy removal with minimal wall damage. I've seen
products like this in use but didn't catch the names. Has anyone found the
magic bullet?

Many thanks, happy solstice--Matt

We use 3M VHB tape

series for all of our labels and some didactics. They come in a series of
strengths so check what you need. And a little goes a long way, we
typically use what is needed in corners. Good luck!
