RE: MD: In-dash MiniDisc players and shuffle-play

What's seamless shuffle play? My MDX-400 never repeated a song twice if
that's what you're talking about.

This is where, when a track ends during shuffle play, the next selected
track starts with very little delay -- even with no delay if there is no
silence before or after the track. Most Sony portables achieve this by
reading ahead and stuffing the buffer while playing out the track out of the
buffer.

Simon

Re: MD: MD boombox recommendations?

1999-09-16 Thread Tugrul Tanyol

Joe,
Last month I bought Aiwa CSDMD50 from JR @ New York. Shelf price was
$339.99, but they let me buy it for $315. I had the opportunity to examine
it a bit before leaving it with my son in his dorm room. It is indeed a very
nice unit. As you might have seen from its pictures, the CD player and the
MD recorder are side by side on the lower side, whereas the tuner and the
cassette tape are on the upper side. A very nice design, the display panel
is very attractive, opens to reveal the cassette tape. 3 Preset Equalizer
(Rock/Pop/Jazz) and a Q Surround mode which is amazingly good. CD syncro
recording works like a dream with a single button push. The sound is loud
and rich.

I really recommend this unit, especially if you also need a cassette
recorder.

regards,

Tugrul Tanyol

I'm looking for a boombox or mini shelf system with a CD player and MD
recorder/player. I want to be able to record digitally from CD to MD
and from CD and internal MD to an external MD or DAT machine, also
digitally. Ideally, it should also have a cassette capability. It's
got to be capable of good recording quality; the sound of the unit
through it's own speakers is less important.

I've been looking at the following models:

 Aiwa XRMD95
 Aiwa CSDMD50
 Sanyo MDC3100
 Casio MDH-1

Does anyone have any experience with these or other models?

 Joe

Re: MD: R55 - digital synchro recording?

1999-09-16 Thread Sciamano Nerazzurro

Da: Simon Gardner [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Can the R55 do synchro recording (ie. making trackmarks itself based on
the
gap between tracks) when using the digital input?

Yes

If so, how? (asking on behalf of an R55 owner)

Well, the synchro recording switch is on the base of the unit.
It works both with the 3 seconds gap AND the track marks.

Hope this helps,

Luca

MD: Copying MD to CD-R

1999-09-16 Thread Steven Pasiba

Hello,

Can anyone explain how to record an audio mini disc (Sharp 722) to a CD-R or
my pc's hard drive? I've checked the faqs for MDs and CD-Rs and haven't found
an answer. Thank you very much!

Best Regards,

Steve

MD: Sony's Car MiniDisc Player Rebate - help!

1999-09-16 Thread Paul Kowtiuk

As you may know, Sony (US) has a $50 rebate for anyone who buys a car player
between April 1, 1999 and September 30, 1999. Today, I bought a 7900
display model from Best Buy. Problem is it had no box and you have to have
a 7900 box UPC bar code with model # to send in for the rebate. My question
to the list is: would anyone (in the US) be willing to part with JUST their
UPC bar code from their box? If so, please contact me to make arrangements
at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks!
