Re: MD: Cheap semi-pro interconnects
Heya Guys + Gaz ;) Is it really worth getting these cheap (but supposedly higher quality) interconnects than those provided with the units, or is it just another scam? No it's not a scam... I've got cables here that I can definatly tell the difference between... (ie some really cheap and nasty stuff and some normal nice wire ;). If your really intrested in hearing high quality sound then it's worth it... Hence I need to get a decent lead for my Turtle Beach sounds card to my amp. (Kinda disappoint with that card... sounds good, but it's a small headphone type jack output... (sucky), and it doesn't have an onboard digital input (for the cd drive). However it does have a very nice digital optical/coax I/O board which my minidisc is usual connected to ;). Oh Gaz... "/me"??? You been spending a little too much time on IRC? Hehe, oh let me know which network you use... Or if you use the lineone server (which is DALnet ;).. Okey I'm gonna go, have a good one all, Peter. -- Peter Wood ([EMAIL PROTECTED]). === The original message was multipart MIME=== === All non-text parts (attachments) have been removed === While this list isn't for advertising, if someone is having a special deal on minidisc equipment or blanks I don't mind seeing a short=20 note about it on the list. I think that most of the people who do post=20 these ads know how to stay on the "providing information" side of the line. However, I would really like to see anyone who posts a "special" deal to the list come clean with all the charges involved including shipping and handling so we do get all the infomation we need and don't waste time ordering a pack of discs only to find a minimum 4.95 shipping charge at the end of the process so the $1.50 disks you wanted are really $2.50 discs. Re: MD: discussion on advertising
=== The original message was multipart MIME=== === All non-text parts (attachments) have been removed === I agree totally agree. I ordered some discs I learned of here at a rate of 15 MDs for $29.00. Sounds like a good deal, then I find out that Shipping and Handling via UPS Ground is $6.50 which makes the price per disc not such a good deal after all. I did not know of the cost until the deal was done. I know shipping and handling will vary depending on which state you live, but maybe a general guideline to West, Midwest, East would be a good idea. The buyer needs to know ahead of time what these charges are before the deal is done. The video you saw on MTV was from a band called "Bomfunk MC's" and the name of the track was "Freestyler". That group is from Finland and their record company is Sony so that explains why their video is full of stuff from Sony :-). Their next video has more stuff from Sony.. even though it looks like they got even more money from Audi because the video looks more like an Audi TT ad. (not sure if the video is on MTV (US/Nordic) yet.. saw it about a week ago on some local channel) There is at least a Sony Glasstron (sp? that blue cool-looking display-device), again that kid with a Sony md-remote and a Sony portable dvd-player on that video. -Mika- - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The track is by Bomfunk MC's, the song is named "Freestyler". Not a blatant MD plug, but pretty cool nonetheless.. I thought it was pretty blatant. He shows the unit (MZ-R50) for a couple of seconds and uses it throughout the video. /fnord - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I agree with everything that you said 100%. There was a company who's price was the delivered price. Unfortunately, they didn't know how to run a business. It's a shame because they had the concept down perfectly but their delivery (both uses of the word) stunk. That company was the late Mini Disc Now. It is just about impossible to give a delivered price on international orders. But MDN did give delivered price in the US. They also had the sense to use Priority Mail, which is much more reasonable then most other carriers and has delivery on Saturday. I can't believe that UPS does not make deliveries on Sat! "I know shipping and handling will vary depending on which state you live, but maybe a general guideline to West, Midwest, East would be a good idea. MD: beginner question
Just purchased Sony MZ-R55, am recording environmental sounds. Eventually, I want to publish these for my friends by digitally transferring to my Mac, editing as necessary, and then saving the final version on a recordable CD. Can anyone point me to the resource or Web site that explains how said digital transfer can be accomplished, or am I just tilting at windmills? - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: MD: discussion on advertising
Hi... Personally, on our website, we offer Priority Mail... But, in fact, since we had some problem in the past with USPS (people who told they don't receive their order and you have any proof with USPS except if you use a return receipt service). So I offer the USPS priority mail with the return service... and with this service it's nearly the same price as UPS !!! However, I could use only USPS Priority Mail but what could I do with customers who don't receive the stock ??? Who I have to blame ??? USPS or the customer ??? At least, with UPS, we have a tracking number, and with USPS priority mail with return receipt too... If you have any better idea for shipping, I'm really open to it... Don't hesitate to reply to me, or visit my website and let your comments... or place order...
