MD: noise-cancelling headphones

2000-10-17 Thread matthew c. mead

I'm going to Paris over thanksgiving week, and I plan on taking
my Sharp 722 and some music. I'm curious if anyone has used the
various brands of noise cancelling headphones. If so, which ones
seem to work well, and which don't? Thanks!

MD: First Time on the Web !

2000-10-17 Thread Peter Forest

Yes, for the first time ever on the Web...

You can see my face (in fact a part of my face) on my headphone pages for
Sony MDR-G52LP and MDR-G72LP...

Since I was alone to took the pictures, I take my own face to hold these
headphones...

Peter.

Re:MD: batteries

2000-10-17 Thread Raymond West

I've noticed that there has been a few queries about various battery
chemistries including Li-Ion. I have a web site at
http://www.rwc.cwc.net and if you click on the 'Pandora's box icon' at
the bottom of the page, then it will link to a page with links to some
info. on Li-Ion and another link to a short general note on battery
storage. Because of the internal overcharge limitation system, Li-ion
cells are very fragile, and are easily damaged, either electrically or
by dropping on the floor!

Best wishes,

Ray

Re: MD: Minidisc on Canadian Airlines

2000-10-17 Thread Michael Burger

I've used my MD player on various airlines. While I haven't
specifically used it on Air Canada (haven't flown them in a couple of
years, now), it shouldn't be any different than a portable CD player,
and I've seen folks using them on AC flights.

Re: MD: noise-cancelling headphones

2000-10-17 Thread Leon

You're much better off getting a pair of Sony MDR-EX70 or (preferably)
Etymotic ER-4S/4P. I find these less complicated, easier to use, and in
Etymotic's case, FAR more quality sound for your money.

If you're determined to get noise-cancelling headphones, steer clear of
Sony's MDR-NC5. I find those compromised in so many ways, they're not worth
the price. :)

Re: MD: Minidisc on Canadian Airlines

2000-10-17 Thread Leon

Last year I flew Air Canada. They said that you should ask the flight
attendants.

However, since you're allowed to use a laptop without asking, MD equipment
should definitely be allowed.

Unlike Swissair, for instance, AC have not said that you can't use CD or MD.

Leon :)

P.S. If the aircraft is from Canadian Airlines, check out the "proud wings"
livery (design on exterior of plane) is an all-time favorite of mine. Take
a good long look at the goose on the tail before they disappear for good
next year. :)
