MD: Re[2]: Hookup to PC with the Sony MZR-700DPC
JC You have to bring up the volume control from the Start menu, not the JC task bar. START/Accessories/ Volume Control JC You will see the large version of the volume control. Oh really? Some many Volume Controls How'd you say Same balls - side-view? :-) /D-Off - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word unsubscribe to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: MD: MD PC Link Interface
Hello Jacquie, I beleive that's in the FAQ, but anyway... First, your PC Link doesn't add a portable device in a way you expect it (like Iomega Zip), but it adds Sound Playback device so you can play back music to USB instead of your soundcard. Second, you can NOT load audio in anyway - you can only record it real-time (1x) while your computer plays it back. Finally, PC link is ONE way PC-MD. Do not expect too much from that small plastic box ;-) I'm afraid the only way for you is to record audio stream from MD (using analogue link) to WAV-file. -- Best regards, /D-Off JGW I'm new to the list. Here's the problem. When I plug my MiniDisc PC Link JGW Interface in to my computer's USB it is not showing up as a portable device, JGW therefore I cannot load audio. What do I do? I want to create CD's from my JGW Sony MiniDisc Recorder with Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4. Is this possible? JGW Do I need a special program? My Iomega Zip drive shows up through the USB JGW so I know it's working. Re: MD: PCLK-U5 in Europe
Thanks David for correcting my poor English (I beleive that wasn't the only mistake :-). Yes, that's exactly what I meant. I tried to say that it is somewhat similar to Xitel's DG2, but I don't know whether it is identical (re-badged). OK, I think the price depends on the country (and maybe tax rate in that country) - for e.g. Finland it is 58.86 EUR - pretty close to 59.95 USD (assuming I don't pay for oversea delivery, what is unlikely though). But we still don't know is it the same thing as DG2. Probably someone have seen it live. Is it worth to buy? Next question is still open - is it available for portable owners (at all, maybe if more expensive). I know that none of the portables listed on their web form, but you can use your serial number and _any_ model still. - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word unsubscribe to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
MD: PCLK-U5 in Europe
I don't know how many of you aware about that Sony's campaign in Europe -check this URL http://www.pclku5.com In brief Sony is offering pc link adaptor (PCLK-U5 -Xitel's DG2 analog) to all legitimate owners of some MiniDisk decks or Hi-Fi systems for special price (about 60 euros including delivery). First of all I was a bit curious if it has anything to do with portables, meaning if I have MZR-9oo does it mean I am eligible for that discount? Next question is what is so special about that price? I could buy Xitel DG2 straight from Xitel for that money. Maybe I am missing something terribly important and PCLK-U5 somehow better (or different)? - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word unsubscribe to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: MD: MD recording link
AFAIK your UX-A70MD does NOT have digital IN/OUTs so I don't think you need to buy anything, the only way is to use analog minijack cable to connect your computer's soundcard out to stereo in. /570 Sac I have a Victor stereo model UX-A70MD. I want to record from my computer Sac (sony xg28) on to a MD using the stereo. Does anyone know what kind of link Sac I need to purchase so that I can do this? Thanks. MD: Future of MD
Hi everybody, I've seen a lot of postings here about MP3, ATRAC and MD as technology. Also I've seen many speculations about why MD hasn't become popular enough (except probably Japan) despite of its superiority over CD. As far as I remember SONY tried to make MD a de-facto standard for digital media, focusing primarily at computers. It was a nice attempt to replace 1.44 floppy... But (AFAIK) new standard failed to gain enough support and approval from major manufacturers, so MD-drive has never hit the market. Then SONY has changed the focus now aiming at audio-video appliances. MD is not suitable to store raw data anymore (not really). The question is does it have a future? Does anyone know about DataPlay media? (http://www.dataplay.com/) Do you think that 32mm-disk (about size of a quarter) of 500Mb is going to replace MD in near future? -- Best regards, /D-Off - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word unsubscribe to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
RE: MD: Sony MZ-R900DPC in stock at etronics.com
Picture on etronics.com is definitely incorrect, depicted model is MZ-R700DPC, but specs and price are about R900. Does anyone know if etronics delivers to Europe or not? Or maybe some other online retailers? And next question bothering me is which model of Xitel MD-Port is included in DPC bundle, DG1 or DG2? Price difference is about 20-30$ for models with PC-link compares to models without, but if I'll buy it separately it will cost me around 90$ (~60$ + 30$-delivery). /D-Off - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word unsubscribe to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
