MD: Cheap in-dash units
After the Sanyo thing (you all remember it), I thought I'll never see an In-Dash unit for less than 200$. I followed a link from the MDCP news to tweeter.com and they seem to have one MDXC150 (I don't know anything about this model) going for 79.99$. Also they sell the MDXC7900 for 229.99$ which I think is nice. Just wanted you guys to know. Bentz- wish I had an In-Dash (preferably that awesome JVC unit). - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
RE: MD: A question for Macintosh users
Grover Cleveland wrote: Given that I have a G-3 and that I'm not going to change to Windoze, I have this question: What does it take for me to get the S/PDIF signal from the player into the Mac so that I can edit my field recordings in Sound Edit 16? I have never used a Mac so I can't even start to answer your question yet I have to point out one thing which you might have missed (others have missed it before). In your post you asked: "what does it take ... from my player...". The first thing you have to check is that your "player" has a digital output. If this "player" isn't a Minidisc deck or bookshelf (even on some of those there is no digital output for the MD sub-component) all you have is an analog output. Bottom line: If you are using a portable MD player or player/recorder (except the MZ-R1) there is no way to make a digital transfer to your computer (any computer). RE: MD: md-l-digest V2 #439 - Automatic Reply
I think the silver lining here is that he's subscribed to the digest. Imagine how disturbing it would be if he was on the full list. RE: MD: MZ-R50
Matt wrote: I am planning on buying my first MD recorder/player in the next month or so. I have done a lot of research on what's out there and what soon will be out there . . I have concluded that the MZ-R50 is one of the best looking and performing units out there right now - even when compared to the newer models released by Sharp, Sony, JVC, Panasonic . . . I am looking for feedback from anybody who has an opinion on this matter! I don't want to make a mistake spending so much money so please help me out if you can. I have found a place where I can get this player for $230 new. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Matt Consider the AIWA AM-F70. It has some features which are missing on the MZ-R50 like program play, backlit LCD and buttons (on unit). It has a longer battery life in a smaller package, no End-Search and it was introduced more than a year after the R50 which probably makes it's ATRAC chip more current. I think all this is worth another 20-40$. my 0.02 Shekels Bentz - Speaking up after a long lurking period. - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

MD: Aiwa AM-F70 titling solution
Hi everyone, Does anyone know a convenient way to title MDs with the Aiwa AM-F70 ? I'm sick of the jog dial method (too slow). I was thinking of something in the line of the little construction kit cable for the Sharp 70x: http://www.ncc-mannheim.net/user/meierth/MD70X.HTML Bentz - I wasn't lurking I just didn't have anything to say :) - To stop getting this list send a message containing just the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
