Your fingers and wrists will thank you for it, and you can use it for the deck too. (Just not at the same time.) === = NB: Over 50% of this message is QUOTED, please = = be more selective when quoting text = === Most PC keyboards now are PS/2 compatible. All that's referring to is the connector on the end. It's a PS/2 connector, the same as on a PC mouse (or older Mac mice I think). It's *not* the "fat" connector, which is AT. But, yeah, basically it's whatever fits :-) Josh on 1/3/01 10:09 AM, Ken Clinger at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: My home MD deck allows for titling via a PS/2 compatible keyboard. Re: MD: PS/2 compatible keyboard?
ok, heres a little info that I pulled off the net (I figured my 'big bad, small good' explanation needed a little help^^): "Keyboard connectors come in two different styles. The older one is the large 5-pin DIN connector, and the newer one is the smaller 6-pin mini-DIN connector (also called "PS/2-style" for the IBM system that introduced it). The two types are electrically compatible and you can attach an adapter to allow the use of one style on a PC that requires the other. (Note that this is not always true for PS/2 style mice that use an identical 6-pin connector)." Any pc keyboard that is fairly recent should be fine. If on the off chance you do have one of the old ones kicking around the adaptors are pretty cheap and I think easy to come by. === = NB: Over 50% of this message is QUOTED, please = = be more selective when quoting text = === Not to nitpick but the older mac mice I think you are referring to were ADB (Apple Desktop Bus) as was the keyboard. Apple is currently on the USB bandwagon but any any local computer shop or even probably walmart or the like should have a cheap keyboard with a ps/2 connector. Re: MD: PS/2 compatible keyboard?
You should be able to get a ps/2 style keyboard pretty cheap. They are the ones with a round connector instead of a rectangular one. It should say ps/2 compatible on the box. I paid an exorbitant $29 for one of those contoured ones, but I think I got a $20 rebate from the manufacturer. Ken Clinger wrote: My home MD deck allows for titling via a PS/2 compatible keyboard.
