Stick with maemos wind codenames?

Since Community Edition is not Masemo, that would be a good reason to
actually avoid wind codenames.

And about Finnish names in general, I would also avoid them unless
Community Edition wants to nurture a vague association with Nokia. I
know this comment is totally unfair for Finnish language lovers but I
believe this is what it is in this context.

Mermate

A good mate of Mer.
Sounds like mermaid and you can even have one as logo if you wish.
Mer design traditionally had underwater references.

Even better than mermate! Softer sound, closer to mermaid and with an
additional meaning.

Please find the minutes from the below link.

 http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/N900/DeveloperEdition/Meetings

The minutes talk about a new Browser team:
http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/N900/Browser

How do they relate to http://wiki.meego.com/Project/Browser and why not
having just one team? I guess the goal is just the same: make Fennec
work for MeeGo Handset. The fact that some developers focus on N900
doesn't look like a reason strong enough to have a separate team?

Same for http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/N900/VoiceSMS vs
http://wiki.meego.com/Project/Sms http://wiki.meego.com/Project/Dialer

As a principle it would be good to have clearly identified the teams
(and leads) working on each piece of the Handset UX, and their plans.
The N900 Developer Edition project could be useful adding resources to
these teams by targeting the N900 and bringing the feedback and patches
related to it.

What about having an EASYFIX keyword? This is a quite standard practice
to get new contributors on board.

https://bugs.meego.com/describekeywords.cgi

I would love to see goals and features being put up on the wiki as
specs, as I noted before this is a great way to allow people that
might leave and rejoin the project at any stage to get up to speed
with things and start contributing or at least know what's going on,at
least in abstract terms or their impact to app developers, package
 dependency and what not.

It would be useful to have automatic Bugzilla tables in the wiki page
showing the current status, like
http://wiki.meego.com/Marketing/Meego.com_1.2_update

I think adopting this way of work would benefit us greatly.
 some more examples:
 https://wiki.linaro.org/WorkingGroups/Middleware/Multimedia/Specs/1105/GstreamerEglSink
 https://wiki.linaro.org/WorkingGroups/Middleware/Multimedia/Specs/1105/ConsolidateGtsOmxMultivendor

As this wonderful example show, this really facilitates decision
 making as well as transparency.

Fully agree. Just exlaining the progress in the bug reports (as opposed
to have long silence + FIXED resolution) already helps following the
activity and seeing where there is no activity, hence opportunity for
newcomers.

To get it running the easiest way is via U-boot, where .bz2 image is
written to SD card and there is nothing else to do. See here for
 instructions: http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/N900/Install/Dual_Boot

What cards are recommended? I get this question many times from people
willing to test, for instance today: http://identi.ca/notice/66576282

Also, do we have performance targets? Features are important, but if the
performance is undermining slow then we will fail on the mai gole of
being usable as a primary phone device for a developer/hacker person.
