http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3392/4569098094_f05665d201_o.jpg Two and a half years ago I pulled my great uncle's '65 Snapper Comet out from under a spruce tree at camp. It was pretty sorry looking but seemed mostly sound so I hauled it the 450 miles south to my place. The 7hp Briggs was shot and rebuild kits are not available so I ended up buying a newer (late '80s) Snapper that had a good condition (but non-running) 7hp Tecumseh for $50. That needed a replacement carb (another $90) but runs terrific. I also stole the right side wheels and tires since the ones on mine were pretty bad but aside from that, a new pedal cover on the clutch/brake pedal, a new mower blade and a new friction disk (its friction drive) it really just needed a good cleaning. So today I finally got everything back together and mowed the lawn. Worst part of the whole thing is that the gas tank is dirty so mowing the lawn took like 8 runs. It running okay now but I need to spend some time and get the gas tank off (can't figure how to get the oil fill tube out of the way) so I can flush it properly. The list is not down, but it does seem to be on the wane lately. There are only about a dozen folks who post here with any frequency, and as often as not the posts are "off topic" or quickly become so. Out of curiosity I did a google search for "mercedes benz email lists" and "mercedes benz discussion" and okiebenz.com does not appear on the first page of results for either. So people who are looking for a list are likely not finding this one, and over the years it seems we've been steadily losing members. yank the dash & ignition switch from the dash. Anybody here done this before? Only on a 107. Mostly you remove everything that looks like it's in the way, especially the center console, and remove the three (?) mounting nuts that hold the dash in. -- Jim ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

I removed the dash, nd lots of other things to replace the blower motor in a 115 once - many years ago. Figure about 8 hours to get it out. I don't remember the details however. Re: [MBZ] 300 TD
Check the linkage to the ride-height valve for wear. If you see signs of wear, try adjusting the linkage first. (or replacing worn parts) The system does not self level with the car standing. It is build to self level as it goes over bumps. It sounds to me like it is working, but out of adjustment. (assuming the reservoir has adequate oil.) Be sure to buy the official (approved) oil. It is expensive, but it keeps the system working longer than trying to use hydraulic oil that is not approved. Rusty has it by the liter. -Original Message- From: mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com [mailto:mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com] On Behalf Of MG Sent: Friday, April 30, 2010 2:19 PM To: Mercedes Discussion List Subject: Re: [MBZ] 300 TD I've been driving it for the past two weeks.
