I am looking for a palm sized gizmo that hooks up to the OBD-II

instant MPG, cumulative MPG, spark, timing, oil pressure, amperage,

You can run a wire from the terminal and velcro it to your dashboard

There are a couple of manufacturers ,and the best rated one for
bang/buck runs about $70. Very cool toy. Will work on any 96 or
later car with OBD-II

If y'all could lead me to it, you will please the Information

The bluetooth dongles are cheap, like $5-20, and work with a phone.
I assume you can find apps for most phones that do anything Scangauge does.

Re: [MBZ] Engine whine - why? W123 300TD

2014-04-09 Thread Peter Frederick
If the TO fried the turbo (which they do often) and it is still in
there, MB will replace it and the turbo for free.

DO NOT take it out before checking with MB -- it's much more expensive
to do yourself!

The catalyst in the trap comes apart, and the ceramic shrapnel
produced by this action eats the turbine on the turbocharger.

My brother had his done about 8 years ago on the 86 SDL - still covered.

Re: [MBZ] Suspension parts - OEM vs. other brands

2014-04-09 Thread Rich Thomas
You should replace all the control arm wear bits at once, just a matter of time
until another one wears out, or might be already.

I am looking for a palm sized gizmo that hooks up to the OBD-II
terminal under the dash that monitors various engine telemetry --
instant MPG, cumulative MPG, spark, timing, oil pressure, amperage,
etc etc.
You can run a wire from the terminal and velcro it to your dashboard
and scroll through 30+ functions, to my memory.

There are a couple of manufacturers ,and the best rated one for
bang/buck runs about $70. Very cool toy. Will work on any 96 or
later car with OBD-II

If y'all could lead me to it, you will please the Information
Minister immensely. I have tried several google key words without
success.

I've got a Scangauge II.
Scangauge E is cheaper.
If I didn't already have one, I'd buy an E from Advance Auto on a $40
or $50 off coupon.
