I probably should. I like mob stories and documentaries. I watched the Michael 
Franzese and Sammy Gravano podcasts on YouTube until they started to get 
repetitive.

I just haven't taken the time for movies in years. I did like Goodfellas and 
Casino though. For whatever reason, never watched any of the Godfather movies.

served to get us around. He was always going on about how “it looks like a 
Mercedes”

124 seats are very comfortable. I think the MB seat designers hit the peak with

A lot, if not most, North American cars of that vintage were pretty much 
junk. The cars from the 1960's were better. We had a 1977 Monarch. It 
was not a good car. Don't really know if the comparable Chevy was any 
better but we test drove a Nova at the time and thought the interior on 
it really looked and felt cheap. The Monarch was underpowered and didn't 
handle all that well but the interior looked and felt fairly good and it 
served us reasonably well for a long while. I think we had it for about 
13 years. We bought it new and drove it while I was in university. It 
became a second car in about 1984 and we finally sold it in about 1990. 
We had very few issues with it. The only thing that was a bit 
troublesome was the old style power steering. I think I replaced one 
piece of it 3 times.

When we replaced the W124's with a new Passat, the first things I noticed
was hearing the wind noise and that the seats were not as comfortable as
the over 20 yrs old MB seats. Nothing has measured up since.
The current Subaru Legacy seats are about the same as the VW seats were.

us.  She likes to go camping and doing these 100 mile runs in the 
mountains and backwoods, so she wanted to have something she could sleep 
in and get in off-road places if she had to, so no news...  But she sent

If you go to a transmission shop, there's only two answers in their 
repertoire:


1. We changed the fluid and filter and adjusted it to spec, you're GTG.

2. It needs a rebuild.
