Liquid nails takes a long time to dry. Foam may fall off before it dries. Contact cement might dissolve the EPS, but it would be great otherwise. I might try 3m super trim spray adhesive if compatible with the foam. And you definitely want some foil on the back to keep the steel from radiating heat inward, if I understand correctly. Growing up in Riyadh there were a million 504 diesels from Syria and Turkey that would come down yearly for the Haj. Definitely a preferred vehicle, which is really all the endorsement a car needs in retrospect. They would load them like crazy. A wagon is always attractive but then you give up the funky humped trunk silhouette. I never saw a wagon over there. The 240 diesel was a dog. A buddy even turboed one and it still wouldnt get out of its own way. 6 cylinders I think. Maybe 85hp. I had a 240 wagon gasser before my 85 td. Honestly it was a better car in many ways. Primarily because it was simpler and a 5 speed. Less maintenance for sure. I put an ipd swaybar on it and it cornered great. It was also possible for a 6'5" person to sleep flat in the back along one side, which is not possible in the Merc unless you remove the seat bottoms instead of tilting them. [MBZ] CL500 progress
Got plates today! Drove it up the road to the hardware store to get screws for the license plate and the trunk lock assembly. It moves along with alacrity! AC was BLOWING ICE COLD and all seemed ok, ABC suspension giving a warning but seems to be working ok now. ABC Sport setting is solid, was shaking me in the driveway. So turned that off and it was better. The steering wheel buttons started working! So was able to cycle through settings for the instrument cluster and lighting delay etc. it is fairly rudimentary what it will display but there is some useful info. The trunk release was working now it won’t, it’s some over engineered electro-vacuum thing but it seems it is easy to repair. I can get it open with the blade key. I discovered it has staggered tire sizes front/back, I’m not sure if the wheels are different widths or what, all the tires/wheels are 18”. No indication in the specs so maybe these wheels were put on after. They are factory wheels though. Interesting. Going to do more polishing now. --FT Sent from iFōn ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Re: [MBZ] Peugeots
The only French cars I ever saw in the midwest were the 1980s-era Renault-based Alliance and Encore that were made by AMC but sold as Renaults. While these cars got some good reviews at the time, they were underpowered and didn't sell well. I remember them as market failures. Seeing a Peugeot of any vintage around here is extremely uncommon. Re: [MBZ] OT: EZ Pass transceiver
We have both the “stick on” and suction cup style transceivers. When I had to replace a windshield a while back on one of our cars with the stick on transceiver, I peeled it off of the old windshield and just taped it to the new one. The Sunpass FAQ has all sorts of warnings about why you’re not supposed to do this, but since it’s nothing more than an RFID chip, I saw no reason why it mattered. I made sure the area around the chip wasn’t damaged when I took it off. And it didn’t. Saved myself the $5 they gig you for a new one. -D > On Jul 21, 2022, at 7:19 AM, Curt Raymond via Mercedes > wrote: > > The EZ Pass transceiver in my Jetta fell off the windshield a couple weeks > ago. Order 2 jugs of the extended performance for $26.XX each. Total is about $52.XX plus tax. Choose curbside pickup at your local wallyworld. Use code WOWFRESH which is $10 off of a $50 order. Not sure what all it works on, but I was able to use it on two jugs of Mobil1. That gets the price for 2 jugs to $42ish plus tax. Then submit the two rebates, get $20 back. Or, buy a $40 oil change bundle at AAP, get $15 back, get the $8 rebate from Mobil, and the deal includes an oil filter (not Mann) https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/projects/oil-change -- Message: 3 Date: Wed, 20 Jul 2022 12:38:51 -0400 From: "Allan Streib" To: "Mercedes Discussion List" Subject: [MBZ] OT: TDI Eurovan 5-speed - 112k miles - $19,500 Message-ID: Content-Type: text/plain Never seen a Eurovan with a manual (I'm not sure if I've ever seen one with a diesel either).
