So if I buy oil and a filter, I can return it on the next change and get free 
replacement? Buy oil and filter once and it's free for life thereafter (less 
the cost of shipping the old parts back)?

I woudl look at FCPEuro. FCPEuro has a lifetime warranty on anything you buy. 
And they do honor it, from my experience.

Update on the people that were in the red house that floated away in the 
timelapse video from Ft. Myers Beach…. They made it out and somehow 
survived!


Yesterday we learned someone was in this house as it floated away, 
we have now confirmed via family that the people somehow were able to 
make it out alive even after floating away and hanging onto trees, going

I wouldn’t put something as important as brakes on my car if they were from 
Rock Auto. Have you looked into offerings from someplace like FCP Euro?

Also, are you going with organic or ceramic pads?

And what did you expect to pay? For a full kit with rotors, pads and hardware I 
would expect to spend at least $400, or around $100/wheel. The fact that it’s a 
“sport” model may very well play into the cost, too.

There are some systems in a car you don’t want to cheap out on, and the brakes 
are definitely one of them.

(Sport).  Looking for recommendations on ordering a 4 wheel kit 
(Pads/Rotors/Brake Sensors).  Rock Auto has a kit from "Power Stop" for around 
$350 including shipping.  There are two kits one with drilled front rotors and 
one with solid front rotors and are basically the same price?  There are 
drilled on the front now, but I am curious why they would offer solid too and 
which is better?
   The Genuine Mercedes Benz kits are much more expensive and I am not sure if

A friend has one of about that vintage I think, or it might be a 911. She was 
going to send me a pic of it but hasn’t. Her deceased husband had bought it 
ages ago and it’s been sitting since he passed which was many years ago too.  
From her description it sounds like it got pretty ratty over the years and 
needed some substantial work.  She told me last week she was going to get it 
worked on and running but who knows. 

Her son passed last fall and her daughter is mostly estranged, and in any case 
a total b…. so I’ve been suggesting maybe I could be a beneficiary of her will…

Correct. The 912 was the “poor man’s Porch” so to speak. Personally, I like the 
912 better. Our now deceeased Roger, when I met him at a PCA event here in 
Tampa, connected me a with a 912 owner that shepherded me around the event for 
the day. I learned a lot about the 912 and it’s differences that day, it was 
quite enlightening.

That’s what I thought someone mentioned. I’m not in a rush, as it’s just a new 
air nozzle for the dash to replace one that’s got an adjuster that’s coming 
apart. But it’s a $100 part, so anything I can get is always welcome.

[MBZ] OT Recon

[Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes]

Took a little recon walk around the vast estate. Not much more than a regular 
storm, thankfully. Its cool though, in the 60s. It’s raining and there’s some 
wind but not bad. 3.5” rain so far, a few limbs down here and there but nothing 
else of significance. The fuse on the pole by the road blew but the lines are 
all ok so maybe someone will come by at some point. And no traffic on the road! 
 Makes me want to go somewhere!
