[MBZ] [Fwd: I give up on Mobil-1]
Original Message Subject: I give up on Mobil-1 Date: Thu, 29 Jun 2006 19:42:40 -0400 From: dave walton [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Mercedes mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] While running errands today I stopped in a 2 Wallmarts and 2 Advance Auto stores and NONE of them had ANY Mobil-1 0W-40, 15W-50 OR 5W-40. As much as I know you guys out there like Mobil-1, it just is not worth my effort any more. So I go over to the Amsoil site and see a selection of synthetics to choose from. Given my current mood, I'm inclined to buy a 30 gallon jug and be done with it and let Mobil rot in hell where they belong. Does anyone have a recommendation as to which Amsoil is best? Thanks -Dave Walton 94S350, 99E300

I thought the WalMart house brand was a wine -- isn't the name Chateau de TrailerTrash? On 6/29/06, Kaleb C. Re: [MBZ] [Fwd: I give up on Mobil-1]
You should look for Delvac 1 at truck stops (NOT Delo!). That is the commercial large truck Mobil synthetic oil, and it will work perfectly. Peter

Mobil won't loose much. They supply all the base oil that Amsoil uses. Same here. Not even the Auto Stores have the M-1 Diesel oil. Next change Im going back to Delo 400, at least I know I can get it just about everywhere, especially Costco. M-1 is not worth the time and trouble for me and I just go back to 2000-3000 mile oil changes. Walt Lasher Seattle W140 S350
Re: [MBZ] [Fwd: I give up on Mobil-1]
Walt, Down at the Southern end of your State Wally world is selling Mobil Delvac 1300 Super 15W-40 Diesel Oil for $8 a gallon - meets Mercedes 228.3 spec. I picked some up for my tractors if I can not get M1 15W-50 for the cars I'll probably just use this. Pass thru Seattle once or twice a week need to find time for that coffee we talked about some 2 - 3 years back. LT Don wondered: Ok, who on here is the Embryo-sol dealer? Might be able to get some mail order business. I think Johnny B sells it... Some guy at work has been pinging on me to start selling it... Bob Rentfro

I suspect Mobil 1 products are available at the service stations that work on the 18 wheeler tractors - being close to I-95, there are 3 that I know of within a 20 mi area -- Larry T (67 MGB, 74 911, 78 240D, 91 300D) www.youroil.net for Oil Analysis and Weber Parts Test Results http://members.rennlist.com/oil Weber Carb Info http://members.rennlist.com/webercarbs Porsche Road Test http://members.rennlist.com/roadtest/ . - Original Message - From: Peter Frederick [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Mercedes Discussion List mercedes@okiebenz.com Sent: Thursday, June 29, 2006 10:51 PM Subject: Re: [MBZ] [Fwd: I give up on Mobil-1] You should look for Delvac 1 at truck stops (NOT Delo!). Re: [MBZ] [Fwd: I give up on Mobil-1]
The WM brand seems very thin. I wouldn't run any of thier 5 grade. Have seen a couple motors with spun bearings during a race.I presume due to the oil foaming(very high RPM) and losing viscosity.
