also, when buying any more - new or used - try to get one with an 
aluminum deck.  The steel decks will wear out long before the B&S engine 
does.

3 Acres is enough to keep 2 cows,  You can do the AI on them each 
year, and sell a couple of feeder calves each year.  Low labor ag, as 
opposed to Andrews high labor hort.

Straight 30wt? I run Mobil 1 5w40 in everything except the Jetta which gets 
CarQuest 5w40 (since it meets the VW spec and M1doesn't) and the pickup which 
gets M1 5w20. 
The only oil related failure I've ever had the mower was running straight 30wt 
for break-in before going to M1. Dad ran it for one mowing in the spring to 
"mix things up" before changing the oil and it threw the rod out through the 
block...
