Re: [MBZ] 1981 280SL?
If I wanted a 107, that is the one that trips my trigger. no v-8, no ACC, no auto trans, with Euro lights, with euro bumpers. M110 in euro trim is a powerful engine for its displacement. That's what they are calling it. Definitely a Euro. http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/cto/2859327113.html Dan ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

I'll go check it out for you if you want. Definitely desirable since its a Euro, but still a little pricey if you ask me... I bought a sweet looking Delta 88 that came from Florida. The floors and frame were rotted beyond belief, the rest of the car looked new. Re: [MBZ] 1981 280SL?
I really think it depends on where you live. I say that because I have two cars, one that lived in Florida all of its life, the other all but two years (those were spent in Indiana.) The car that has lived here all of its life has no signs of surface rust anywhere to be seen, and I am talking about the undercarriage and other areas that would be clearly visible and exposed to the elements. The car that started here, spent two years in Indy and is now back here shows surface rust on the undercarriage in a number of areas. I bought a 1982 300SD that was in a carport 30 feet from the Gulf for over 10 years. It had one area of rust in a wheel well arch but was otherwise untouched. I guess my point is that just because you live near the ocean or saltwater is not a precursor for rust. Yeah, I see a few w107 around Seattle that the owner is enamored of his ride far exceeding the condition of the car. Hard to tell based on wear and body that it really is worth $9k and not $4k as the others I look at. clay 1972 220D - Gump - She is green, simple and ran 1995 E300D - Cleo - Used by the Queen of Denial POS 1987 SDL - Beware Nigerian Scammers On Feb 20, 2012, at 8:22 AM, Craig wrote: On Sun, 19 Feb 2012 23:07:50 -0800 clay monroe redgh...@comcast.net wrote: I would much prefer that over the V8. I had a car a mile from the ocean, but the salt spray blew in regularly.
