Most of the deer strikes here (NC piedmont) seem to happen in the fall. We live on a country road (50 mph+) and occasionally find a dead deer in the front yard. I never actually weighed one but I do use the loader on the tractor to carry them deep into the woods. Personally, I use those deer whistles on my highway cars. Go ahead and laugh but I've never hit a deer. -Original Message- From: Mercedes [mailto:mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com] On Behalf Of WILTON Sent: Saturday, May 11, 2013 10:11 PM To: Mercedes Discussion List Subject: Re: [MBZ] 300TD travel Son said his was coupla hundred pounds or more. Folks last nite i drove the reassembled 300td from athens to tybee island, about 240 miles. The trip was uneventful till about 1/2 mile out of downtown savannah, on I-16 my RR tire let me down. It had about 80% tread, but was probably an older one. The tire had two punctures a couple of months ago and i had them repaired inside the tire. Anyway, since there was no traffic, i changed the tire on the side of a bridge in about 10min The inner sidewall had a slit from rim to the edge of the tire Other than that, the trip was uneventful and my repaired oil cooler lines didn't leak a drop thanks, xx rick Rick Hawkins ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

[MBZ] 300td travel
Folks i've just done some epic travel in my 82 300td. Two weeks ago, i dragged a 1500 lb letterpress from athens, ga to charleston, sc. behind the 300td on a trailer Then last weekend, i dragged a 1050 lb press from athens to Tulsa, ok, delivered that. Then i went to OK City and picked up another 1050 lb press and dragged it back to athens. Two days later, i drove 240 miles down to Tybee Island, GA. All of this was done running WVO. I hauled all the fuel along, as well. It was unexpectedly cold in OK on Sunday (not in the forecast), so i put in a few gallons of diesel and about a gallon of gas to lower the viscosity. No real problems at all on any of the trips. I even ran the AC on part of the OK trip, but my heater was erratic . it would come on for a few minutes and then go cold ideas? mono valve? something else I did resolder the heater control a few years ago Yes, i have a lot to be thankful for. thanks, xx rick Rick Hawkins www.javaphoto.com www.javacycles.com LETTERPRESSES FOR SALE www.ricktheprinter.com ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Could that also be the case with a 124 with the same symptoms? Do 124's have monovalves? I don't own one. I know 201's don't have them. They, and late 126's don't have an override on the MIN/MAX detents, the brain is in charge at all times. -- Jim ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
