I stripped the rusty parts wagon of its drive train and other high value
parts and sold the carcass to a crusher. The blue/blue daily driver 1983
300TD is still available. I am in D.C.

[MBZ] 300td deerslayer grille

2008-07-13 Thread Wilton Strickland

The 123 grille I have is in two separate pieces - the inner, plastic screen
area has been separated from the outer, chrome piece. I have no bolts, no
star, no badge. I think, though, that you'd be able to use the bolts from
your damaged grille to reassemble this one - that's what I did 7 or 8 years
ago to make up one for the 81 300D I had then. The chrome surround piece
has a narrow area of thinning chrome along the top, front edge on the left
side, i. e., an area along the upper, front edge about 1/4 inch by about 6
to 8 inches is looking "brassy". The thin, horizontal aluminum strips on
the plastic inner screen have several rock dings and are slightly twisted.

I have a grille. 'Need to look at it in detail to determine completeness,
condition, etc. There are no dings, but I changed it years ago, 'cause of
"thinning" chrome on top, etc. I'll try to take a look at it today.
