Have these things gone up in price or is the Focus a different animal?
I have bought a number of the COPs for my 02 F150 and I don't think I
have paid more than $65 for any of them.

Never had to buy one for a Focus so I don't have a point of reference. I was a
little surprised, as I know my former Crown Vic had them and they were only
like $50 each.

As an aside, I've tried 1aauto.com and found some good deals.  Maybe not
specific to your COP, but they have done me some good over time.

Thanks!

Gotta love those easy ones. This is one time that electronics made my job
easier and saved me some money in the process.

My expenses for this car with 167k on it not including gas and regular
maintenance are under $500 so far.

No, it was a BWM or something like that. I can look at the box and tell you.
They had a Denso that was about $20 cheaper, but it wasn't in stock at the

Since the Focus was another joint Mazda/Ford design, I prefer to use OEM parts
when I can get them, hence my choice of Denso if I could have gotten it this
time. Advance Auto has a warehouse in Lakeland, so I could have had the part
mid-day tomorrow, but it's my youngest's car and he's in a pinch if he doesn't
have wheels. Not to mention with the 40% off $100 or more the BWM part was
cheaper than the Denso with a 20% promo code I had.

I did call my local Ford dealer and even with my discount off the $150 list for
the OE part it would have been well over $100.

if they really will replace it forever and the labor is a minute, you can't
go wrong

this is one of the many things that people don't get about the cheap
chinese parts. they can give you a 1 year or 10 year or 1000 year warranty
even though they they know the part will only last 3 to 6 weeks because you
won't take that warranty if labor is 4 hours
