These people aren't in the parts business, and they apparently only have room
for about an hour's worth of uncrushed dropoffs.
I'm a little dismayed to learn that the thief has been charged with possession
of stolen property, and nobody else was arrested for anything.

OR perhaps they were not showroom restored cars and he just wants to collect
the insurance on them as if they were perfect. I could see someone overstating

Re: [MBZ] Crushing classic cars

http://www.newsobserver.com/news/story/1139204.html

Scott Thompson, co-owner of TT&E, said he gets about 20 police inquiries a week
about metal theft.

"There have just been a rash of incidents," he said. "Unfortunately, there's
not
a great tracking system in place, so there's only so much we can do."

If a car is less than 10 years old, Thompson explained, the person bringing it
in must have a notarized title. But for older cars, all a person needs is the
make, model and vehicle identification number.

"We just try and use common sense," Thompson said.
