That sounds cool. At StarTech 2007 there was a 1970 280SL with an M112
fitted (as well as A/C, etc). The inside looked original, but under the
hood... Let me find some pics!

Croatia. From what I understand he bought the donor 500SE only to find
out it had Bosnian papers and couldn't be registered, so he decided to
build the car of his dreams instead. Hard to imagine he couldn't find a
better 123, but if you like to weld and are going to take the whole
thing apart anyway, may as well shop on price and not condition.

I'm still awestruck at the amount of work he's putting into that thing.

From what I could gather this is being done in Hungary on a shoe
string. The work is pretty good, and he has chopped off the bad bits
and stitched in some good looking sheet metal. For what he paid for
the hulk and the hours spent, I am sure he will have a desirable
car. If one looks at the work and hours put into todays street
machines, it would be comparable, but he will have a much greater
return on investment than a back yard mechanic sprucing up a nice 72
Duster

clay

Oh, and the same guy I mentioned in the last post is in the midst of
building a 4 wheel drive Beetle with a Sidekick chassis...I've seen
it. It is going to work. It's scary as can be, but fundamentally it will
work. He is doing it in the woods, under a tree, with a cutting torch and a
welder. He is actually making the firewall and such from the Sidekick
into part of the Beetle body. It will look near factory built when he is
done.

anything.and a custom, racing 5 gallon bucket seat..There is
no explaining it.
