Black Green Metallic. Which isn't really green.
https://www.copart.com/lot/35420277
Some spots of surface rust that I Scotchbrited away and covered with POR-15.
Black interior, decent but dirty.
I was thinking of selling it for $2500 after driving it for the winter, but
that was before I bent the hood and before I decided today that I don't like
driving it in the winter.

Well, when a set of winter tars cost near as much as the vee-hicle, and
the rubber on it is in VG condition, (and it is an "appliance" vehicle)
it makes sense to flip it and buy another, possibly one with good winter
tars. (Or something else with cheaper size tars)

That seems a bit extreme, sell rather than re-tire? Are new tires that
expensive?

Green exterior, right? Rust? How is the interior condition?

[MBZ] Michelin Latitude Tour HP

2018-02-11 Thread Mitch Haley via Mercedes
Found this review at TireRack.com from a ML320 owner:
Noticed a serious lack of traction in any snow condition. Definitely a summer
tire only.

I agree with the above wholeheartedly.
First time I had it out in the snow back in November, I tried to do a low speed
stop and the ABS kicked in when I was barely touching the pedal. Rolled right
through the stop sign.

Second time, today, in a foot of snow, it went worse in the trail that my
Saturn Ion had broken yesterday than the Ion did while making it. Stopped at
the end of the driveway and couldn't move it an inch in either direction. Two
guys pushed me out, their combined force felt about the same as the combined
effort of four Michelins with 4000lb on them.

This thing is not only scary in handling and braking compared to my Ion with
Pirelli Winter Cinturatos on it, I'm at least as likely to get the ML stuck in
deep snow, and the Ion has a lot less ground clearance and weight. I'll
probably sell it in the spring to get rid of the tires, don't want to buy a set
of 17" when the ML already has a set of high dollar tires with tons of tread
life left.

Mitch.
