Re: [MBZ] OT: Network changes will affect your phone ...
I guess. Other than swapping out my old SE for a newer SE a few weeks ago, I haven’t changed phones for probably 3-4 years at least. I buy mnine outright unlocked and just get a sim card from my carrier. None of that “buy the phone on a monthly basis as a part of the plan” garbage. -D > On Apr 20, 2019, at 7:21 AM, Mitch Haley via Mercedes > wrote: > > How much work do you think it takes to NOT change phones every 2 years? > With the provider Craig and I use, paying them every 3-12 months is easy. > Changing phones can often be a hassle. > But it sounds like Craig's hassle was compensated for with a 200 hour airtime > gift. > Mitch. > >> On April 20, 2019 at 6:27 AM Dan Penoff via Mercedes >> wrote: >> >> >> OMG, how many calories have you guys burned just trying to keep old minutes >> and old phones >> > > ___ > http://www.okiebenz.com > > To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ > > To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: > http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com > > ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

+1 on the Moto G. Mine is a G4. Based on recommendation of another member here I signed up with Republic at $20/mo which includes 1G cell data. Republic uses WiFi first (if available) so I use little use cell data. But I'm a smartphone novice and probably don't know what I'm missing. > -Original Message- > From: Mercedes [mailto:mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com] On Behalf Of Rick > Knoble via Mercedes > Sent: Friday, April 19, 2019 12:58 AM > To: Mercedes Discussion List > Cc: Rick Knoble > Subject: Re: [MBZ] OT: Network changes will affect your phone ... > > I have had a Moto G5 plus for over a year now. My wife and one daughter are using Samsung Galaxy J3s - they have been without issues for the last several years. I don't know exactly which J3 - I didn't know there was more than one. I like it due to the reference to the Piper Cub ... I bought a burner ZTE at El Mercado de Wal a coupla years ago, was like $25. Seemed like a solid device, worked and did what it was supposed to do. --FT Sent from iPhone > On Apr 19, 2019, at 12:39 AM, Craig via Mercedes > wrote: > > I have been using Tracfone for a long time with a Nokia 2126 I got from > Mitch. > > After much use and being dropped many times, the 2126 gave up the ghost > about a year ago. I've got the same phone Rick, the G5+, love it. Daughter use a Moto E5, solid phone but limited memory. If you don't load up too many apps, that is a good phone. You can insert a micro SD card to hold pictures and tunes. OtterBox makes a case for the E5, but I haven't found one for my G5+. -- Max Dillon Charleston SC On April 19, 2019 12:57:55 AM EDT, Rick Knoble via Mercedes wrote: >I have had a Moto G5 plus for over a year now. I have had a Moto G5 plus for over a year now. I am very satisfied with it, and it performs what I need it to do flawlessly. It is NOT loaded up with the bloatware you will find on offerings from Samsung et.al. It is a little bigger than I would like, I cannot have it in my shirt pocket and button the pocket. I think the iPhone SE is a bit smaller, but then you have to contend with the infrastructure of Apple. Apple, Google (Android), Amazon (AWS), Facebook Yes, they all monitor you... [MBZ] OT: Network changes will affect your phone ...
I have been using Tracfone for a long time with a Nokia 2126 I got from Mitch. After much use and being dropped many times, the 2126 gave up the ghost about a year ago. After talking with service on the phone for an interminable time, I was able to activate an LG 236, which I also got from Mitch. Today I got a text message from Tracfone which said: From 770-89 Tracfone: Network changes will affect your phone. Go: yourphoneupgrade.com/tracfone So, at that page I find I have to get a new phone and the choices I have are: LG REBEL™ 3 LTE® (L158VL) RECONDITIONED $ 9.99 ALCATEL MYFLIP™ (A405DL)$ 9.99 Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro (S327VL) RECONDITIONED $ 24.99 ZTE ZFIVE® C LTE (Z558VL) $ 29.99 Alcatel TCL LX (A502DL) $ 29.99 ZTE Blade T2 (Z559DL) $ 29.99 LG Premier Pro LTE (L413DL) $ 39.99 Samsung Galaxy J7 Sky Pro (S727VL) RECONDITIONED$ 39.99 LG Rebel 4 (L212VL) $ 59.99 moto e5 (XT1920DL) $ 69.99 Samsung Galaxy J3 Orbit (S367VL)$ 79.99 Samsung Galaxy J7 Crown (S767VL)$ 99.99 iPhone 6s Space Grey 32GB $124.99 Motorola Moto G6 (XT1925DL) $179.99 iPhone 6s Plus Rose Gold 32GB $224.99 Samsung Galaxy S7 (G930VL) $299.99 iPhone 7 Rose Gold 32GB $324.99 Since the LG 236 is a flip-phone, I was drawn to the ALCATEL MYFLIP™ (A405DL). That phone, however, has bad reviews. To say I am disappointed at this turn of events, having just learned the LG 236, is an understatement. My minutes balance of 16,433.11 minutes is valuable and I would rather not lose it. Any suggestions what to do? Craig P.S.
