I use it (10.2.8) and I'm always getting links that include
a bunch of dashes at the end.

deleted them. I'm going to switch over to Firefox from Safari on the
next one to see how it acts.

That's what I use, Firefox. Did it with Mozilla too, IIRC.

Firefox does the same thing. Just tried the door panel photo link.
BTW it comes to me as a .obj file that I opened in QuickTime. It also
opens in AppleWorks 6.2.9

John - I use Firefox and the lines are often separated. Easiest cure I have
found is to hit the reply so you can easily edit the line and recreate the
link.

I had it in Jaguar too, now again in Tiger. Its not too frequent but
it drove me nuts until I saw all the dotted lines at the end and deleted
them. I'm going to switch over to Firefox from Safari on the next one to see
how it acts.

I get them too and think that safari interprets the winblows crap as
periods/spaces/dash in the link. I am not sure if Firefox interprets
it that way.

I frequently need to delete a dotted line at the end of many links
to make them work. These show up at the end of the URL in my browser.
it also seems to happen when certain people send links and it is
usually an e-bay link.
Can anyone explain this phenomenon?

its usually caused because the person sending the link has their line
wrap set to low.
