Sorry, I didn't mean that. I don't know what the Kansas rule is. I didn't mean
to imply it is only two. Its probably more like 5-6. I just said because that
way I will never even be close.

They take care of that for you by charging almost half again what you
paid for an older vehicle in fees when you register it.

I half paid my way through college buying non-running 80s Volvos for
generally under $100 on CL, and reselling them in the $600-1000 range
with a few days of work, and usually $50 worth of junkyard parts and
rubbing compound put into them. I generally drove them while I worked on
them, so it also provided me with transportation...

[MBZ] The Cadillac is SOLD!

2009-07-21 Thread Donald Snook
Well, the 1993 Cadillac is sold! I bought it from a farmer from a small town
in Kansas called Beloit and sold it to a farmer in a small town called
Sedgwick! Now, I will drive the Grand Marquis until I am tired of it and then
the cycle starts all over again.

I think in my state (NC), anybody buying/selling above a certain number of
vehicles a year (I don't know the number - don't care - just trying to get
in a dig.), must have a dealer license. ;)

That happened to me in Missouri. The Department of Revenue sent me a letter
saying I could not register or sell another car because I did not have a
Dealer's license. My wife sold two cars that year.

I think I am okay. This is my first car sold this year (I sold the Volvo in
Nov. of last year). As long as I keep it to every six months, I'll never have
more than 2 sales in a year.

With a loophole like that, there are hundreds of *actual* dealerships who
meet that criteria.
