Andrew - you are partly correct. At the last Starfest, and several Tri-O-Rama events I've been to, the Concours is done first, with the track events on succeeding days. However, cleaning up the car after driving to the event itself is a multi-hour affair, usually with hoses and buckets supplied by the event hotel. At SF06, in some cases the cars were cleaned up after driving the 2 week route 66 trip, rainy days and dry, and then the jaunt up to Las Vegas. Some of us also got to wash and polish the cars in Chicago after driving from North Jersey. The SD garnered a second (1 point off first) at SF. But it got really muddy on the way back East, while driving through snow and rain on dirt roads in Colorado. It was cleaned up properly when we got back to NJ, after almost 7800 miles (out and back)!
