Re: [MBZ] clues - tach & AC stop addendum
You want to replace the EGR brain, located behind a panel in the passenger's side footwell. You might also need to replace a relay (201 540 0845). any clues as to why the tach & AC stop in my '85 300TD? Unlike other 123's, the '85 tach amp is _not_ in the can on the fender. It's part of something else, the Klima? Find, and fix. Replace the overload protection relay, it's cutting out if it's the same as the one in the W124 -- controls more than one circuit. Re- soldering only works if broken solder connections were the problem. Re: [MBZ] clues - tach & AC stop addendum
I have an intermittent tach in my '83 300D. I've noticed that changing buttons on the ACC controller usually brings it back to life. My AC doesn't work so I don't know if the AC cuts out with the tach, but there does seem to be something going on. Different fuses, as you note, but perhaps a common ground somewhere? Allan "G. M. Folks, I meant to add that I've changed out the PBU in my '85 300TD with a spare I have sittin' 'round but this had no effect. Also, I thought I'd change out the AC Overload Relay with that from my '84 300D but can't locate it in my '84 300D as it's not located up under the far right side of the dash like it is in my '85 300TD, and I've looked everywhere in the engine compartment of the '84 300D and cannot seem to locate it. Again, any clues as to why the tach & AC stop in my '85 300TD? TIA. G. M.
