I have been storing antique cars for many winters & never heard that. I change oil in my CD when I fire it up in the spring. I would agree. Get it good and hot, park it where it’s going to be, then start the “pickling” process of taping off or blocking openings, things like that. I'd just be sure to get the oil up to temp for 20-30 minutes before parking it for the winter, it should be fine then. Maybe to reduce any water content to a minimum? Though to be honest I've never heard of this recommendation.
