I went VA once, but don't recall the details (it was 27 years ago). I
looked at VA recently and the rates available were not an improvement over
a commercial loan. I wouldn't go VA again eventhough I'm eligible.

They are going VA, I know that for a fact, as I
suspect it has something to do with his being a career
officer, I suspect.

Well, you would have to ask regina, which maybe she will see this and 
reply, but from what I have heard, people are better off just going to a 
regular mortgage broker and seeing what they can do for this besides VA. 
  The VA is very picky, and its a pain in the ass to use them.  With the 
rates the way they are, there is no real benefit to going VA.  But, like 
I said, wait for the experts to chime in.
