Re: [MBZ] 124 fuel leak!
Most likely is a return hose. Next most likely is the fuel heater. Also possible that an injector line is cracking, as mentioned. Generally they don't crack if all the clamps are in place. I am sure you have maintained the clamps, So I discount that possibility. Try holding the throttle so the engine runs around 3000 RPM for a while. With a warm engine, you might see the leak. I'd say a fuel line, either hard or rubber cloth covered. -- Max, Charleston SC WILTON wilt...@nc.rr.com wrote: Yes, I know, 'preciate the thought. ;))) 'Just took another look after it's been sitting coupla hours. Re: [MBZ] 124: fuel leak at manual shut-off valve
I noticed a small leak at the manual fuel shut-off on my E300D. It seeps at the valve stem. Could that be a leaking o-ring at the filter or am I looking at replacing the valve? Hans: When I had that same problem, I learned that you have to replace valve. Apparently the valve cannot be disassembled to replace the stem packing. Ned Kleinhenz '95 E300D x2 '85 300D '80 300TD
