Good thought. I looked at the cap, hard to tell if it would be leaking. I’m betting a cracked or leaking seal on the gas cap. P2013-002 code "Major leak in purge system. Hose in system not connected or filler cap open P0455" I'm guessing it is the gas cap, but maybe some leaky hose or something but at least nothing particularly serious, just annoying. Interestingly enough there is some parameter to watch in real time on the scanner that shows the pressure/vac in the system, I could see that at idle but have no idea what the normal reading should be. --FT On 1/13/21 11:53 AM, Dan Penoff via Mercedes wrote: Those are always fun. Check for split hoses, missing or torn gas cap gasket, and cracked plastic parts. Re: [MBZ] Blinking low fuel light and CEL in ML500
I put the scanner on and it gave me a P2013-002 code "Major leak in purge system. Hose in system not connected or filler cap open P0455" I did not go drive it again but I cleared the code, took the cap off and tightened it on again, will drive again tomorrow and see what sorts out. If not the filler cap (which I tightened before but got the code again) I will have to check the purge system. Saw that a component can go bad * * *Bapmic 1634700493 Fuel Tank Purge Vent Valve for Mercedes Benz W163 *https://www.benzworld.org/threads/fuel-light-blinking-but-i-have-1-2-a-tank-of-gas-any-ideas.1164496/ I guess anything in the purge line, a hose leaking or something, can cause this fault. Will need some daylight to check it. I used the $150 iCarsoft scanner to do all that. And while I had it connected I also watched a bunch of real-time performance data from various systems just while idling which is kinda cool, looks like everything was working well which is comforting. It burns 2L/hr of fuel at idle! --FT On 1/12/21 11:20 AM, Buggered Benzmail wrote: I was driving the ML to an appointment and the low fuel light started blinking with 3/4tank. I’ll have to put the scanner on it when I get home. --FT Sent from iPhone -- --FT ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
