My supervisor did not have body cam when he had to confront a criminal, but a
swift call to 911 recorded about 15 minute to the dispatchers computer. The
flat foots that showed up did not want to do anything and claimed at that point
it was he said/he said. My boy called a cop buddy who had the duty sergeant
put down his donut and arrive on the scene to put the fear of the Lord into his
minions

I am thinking that we need to revert to putting cops back on the beat. How can
the pigs know anything if they hide in their cars? This decade they know only
the precinct locker room and the donut hut. Nobody knows anybody, so the cop
has no clue who the locals are, and the business people have no relationship
with the cops. Lose/lose for the whole community

We have other things going on now with Teck, it is going to be very very ugly.

Point very well made, re, having multiple dash cameras which give full
around the car coverage, that is "ALWAYS ON WHEN CAR IS RUNNING" slaved
to a digital hard drive mounted in the trunk.

Small up front cost, big repayment on the back side.for each incident, such
as this one.

My plan to use 4 cameras would give full coverage. One in front windshield,
one inside mounted to each B pillar aimed across interior of car and out
the side windows, and one in rear window. All of them with 120 degree field
of view, night vision, and gps and date time stamp built in, recording at
1080 so it can be played on any big screen TV.

Then, the script reads: Officer, I have the whole event on camera, live as
it happened. Please watch this.
Add: a USB port to the hard drive so you can insert a thumb drive and hand
that to the officer,

Business owners should have an interest in keeping their clients happy.  I'd

This assault occurred right in front of the restaurant.  If the business owners

Re: [MBZ] Horrible Hobo attack last night

2018-10-01 Thread Meade Dillon via Mercedes
The police had more than enough to stop and question the perp, who was
probably within a couple of blocks. I was a witness, we both had good
descriptions of the two drunks, and they weren't going to sober up fast
enough to avoid at least a citation for public drunk and disorderly. My
wife even managed to take a picture or a short video with her phone right
before or right after she called 911, and showed that to the policman.
Some restaurant employee even ran out and stood and watched while the two
stumbled off yelling obscenities. My daughter was also visibly upset but I
wasn't about to provide her info as a witness - she'd been traumatized
enough.

Business owners should have an interest in keeping their clients happy.
I'd certainly expect a business owner to take notice of how well his / her
tax dollars were being spent, and give feedback to the tax spenders (judge,
prosecutor and police to start, and then on to the mayor and town
council). This assault occurred right in front of the restaurant. If the
business owners see a drop in business from locals, and then start to
witness first hand the ill treatment of potential clients, they need to be
smart enough to put two and two together and then take some action.

Looking at it from the side of the police you've got no hard evidence of the

Clay,

Sounds like well past this point, but agitating for change (start going to
city council meetings) might be lots of fun. Dashcam footage of the
event? Time to invest in several of those. Get cell phone footage, start
a you.tube or facebook page for sharing your reporting, gather up a group
of like-minded citizens and let your voice be heard.

Downtown Chucktown one Sunday afternoon, SWMBO, SWMBette and I stopped for
a bite on King street. Shortly after we ordered the food, my wife stepped
outside to get some air. Our table was about three steps from the front
door, the restaurant front was all glass so she was completely visible to
myself and our daughter. Two men approached her and started trying to talk
to her, I started moving outside but before I got there one grabbed her and
hugged her. She pushed him away, I stepped in between and commenced to get
in his face but not get physical, she called 911 on her cell while I was
seeing this miscreant (drunk) and his companion (also drunk) off. An
officer arrived minutes later, immediately passed the description of the
perps on his radio, and then took our statements. Once we'd done that I
asked for the case number and made clear that we'd be very happy to appear
in court as witnesses to this criminal behavior. The cop apologized and
basically said don't hold your breath, the local prosecutor wouldn't bring
charges because the local judge would dismiss them in a case like this.
There would be a report but nothing beyond that. No name for the criminal,
so no way to attach to his record. We were pretty incredulous. I told the
restaurant owner that we'd take our business elsewhere, like to another
town that enforced the law, and enjoy the remains of our Sunday in peace.
From that moment on, I avoid spending money at any establishment downtown
if I can help it.

Average criminal defense lawyer fee for a self defense case will be an
opening retainer of $10,000 minimum, plus what ever bail, if you can bail
out, may be.

The selling point for myself on USCCA was their quite active and ongoing
legal training, which is directed to how you present yourself, and the
event of self defense to minimize negative exposure.

Prime example of what not to do is George Zimmerman case. He did many
things right, post event, but a few things wrong, which cost him much money
and legal expenses. Had he invested in legal training, much of that self
inflicted injury could have been avoided...

The old adage of "shoot, shovel, and shut up" doesn't work in our modern PC
world.

Re: [MBZ] Horrible Hobo attack last night

2018-09-30 Thread Larry Turner via Mercedes
I'm told this lack of enforcement is being used to alter the crime
stats, especially in UK since so many firearms were confiscated and
outlawed.  They claim crime is going down but it's merely being under
reported.  Murder and assaults have actually risen considerably, but
since so many are not reported, the govt claims crime is down thanks to
fewer guns in the hands of the public.  It's madness, with the monkeys
running the circus.

Parking enforcement only torments the law abiding folk. The hobo camper scamps
are ignored, even as they set up lasting encampments on public roadways. The
meter maids just scooter past without taking note the half dozen class C crud
rotting away on the street. Leaking black water tanks drool cholera and
stench as discouragement for public strollers. The property owners are
bedeviled by parking laws and must move our cars every 72 hours or face a

The Coleman crowd (more likely discarded REI tents) devastate any open patch of
ground, be it dirt or cement. They gather to themselves all manner of items
stolen from the law abiding and each other. Furniture, bikes, electronics,
clothing, and any other product not nailed down firmly finds its way into a
moat of nasty encircling their tents. The stench of their effluent is enough
to keep any less than the most determined away. The garbage can reach depth
greater than a meter and cascade down embankments in avalanches of putrescence.

The city council is determined to pass a regulation that would make it a crime
for the un-hoboed to contribute to the pestilence. The Royalty of Hobo are
immune to most, if not all, criminal persecutions. Their vehicles are without
current registrations. They pay not taxes and leave their night soil upon the
streets, after fornicating in broad daylight for all the public to admire.
They steal with impunity. Assault women and children, as well as attack and
strangle tourists. Last week or so, there was a kerfuffle involving a local
business owner, who upon exiting her establishment to take her pooch for a
walk, was accosted by the hounds of hobos. She and her pup suffered severe
injuries requiring prolonged (for current medical care) stays at hospital.
The police were reticent to become involved. The elected SFBs tried to blame
her for inciting the unrestrained and unlicensed pets. Though she had filed
many complaints over the previous year regarding the dangers she and her
customers had with the the hobo population.

The resolution came when her attorney filed suit for damages and caused
embarrassment in the press. The legal proceedings continue, but the hobos
were given the bums’ rush. At least for the next few weeks.

You are 100% correct!  The 1st thing that will happen if any of us law
abiding people need to display or God forbid, shoot someone, is we will
be arrested & thrown in jail until a judge decides to grant us bail
(hopefully) = and if we happen to have $25 or $50K we'll still have to
come up with many more $1000's in lawyer fees.  Carrying is a two edged
sword - don't carry and need a gun, you or a loved one might end up
dead, if you do carry and use it, your financial well being may be lost
in a few weeks while dealing with our criminal-justice system.  This
isn't how it was supposed to be...

BTW, USCCA  may be the one most have heard of who travel in 2nd A
circles but the NRA and some others offer policies as well.  Lots of
choices...

Re: [MBZ] Horrible Hobo attack last night

2018-09-30 Thread clay monroe via Mercedes
I did alert the local media outlet where this whole sordid mess transpired.
Letting them know that there was a violent miscreant just outside their studio
windows and that it would make a great bleeding lead in for the evening news if
the hobo were to accost a young lady out for the evening, or the child of a
family returning home from the ballgame down the street.

I am afeared that any contact I make with the authorities would result in one
of us dead.

I open carry, but can not do that at work, not even in the vehicle. I was
cursing myself for not having the machete in the car yesterday, as I had
planned on using it for some required real estate upkeep chores.

2018-09-30 Thread G Mann via Mercedes
To get police to arrive on scene quickly, you must use magic words, like,
"shots fired", or, " the individual appears to be possibly armed and
violent", or, "Please send an ambulance and police, the perp is down from
injuries after attacking innocent citizens, who were forced to defend
themselves."

Alternatively, just hang the bastard from the stop light cross bar with the
rope you carry in the boot and let the cops sort it out when they get
around to it.

First, go to the soap box, and make your case.

If that fails, go to the ballot box, stump for the candidate that most
exemplifies your ideals.

When that fails, go to the next box, and find an attorney willing to plead
guilty your case.

Last, but most efficient, is Pandora's box.

You don't appear to be showing the proper amount of compassion for the
less fortunate among us.  Perhaps you need to go to a Reeducation Camp.
Is there a local elected representative whom you might call to expedite
your reeducation or to advise on how to proceed with respect to your
public servants and their pressing missions?

Also please note that the term "Hobo" is derisive and should no longer
be used.  The individual in question is "homeless," "less-fortunate" and
"mentally-challenged" and requires a healthy measure of compassion that
is far in excess of whatever happened to your expensive imported
Mercedes-Benz automobile, which illustrates your wealth and white male
privilege.

What is the process to obtain a concealed (or open)-carry permit in your
home state?  One might assume a fear for your life in the interaction
with this individual, which either mace (if allowed) a taser (if permit
required) or a more energetic device might effectively deal with.
