Re: [MBZ] OT Ridgid Rant
I remember the discussion of how great the Rigid warranty was a few years ago when I was looking at tools. I've been very happy with my Makita tools, no battery issues yet but I think I've only had them (checks blog) 2 years. Time will tell. -Curt On Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 06:04:02 PM EDT, Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes wrote: I bought a pair of power tools and batteries a coupla years ago from Home Depot mostly because the batteries had lifetime warranties. There’s a link to a page to do a replacement that doesn’t work. There’s a chat link that replies they’re too busy. There’s a help number that i waited about 30min no response. There’s another number for replacement batteries that basically gets you in the same queue as the other number so I tried that and bailed after another 30min of “heavier than usual call volume.”. There’s a text message number same as the phone number that connects to a bot that wants an order number and understands nothing else. So no way to actually get a replacement. Great scam. HD want no part of dealing with it, they tell you to go through ridgid. --FT Sent from iFōn ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Good to know, sorry you’re getting ghosted. Makes me glad I’ve got Milwaukee stuff. A little painful to buy, but well worth it. -D > On Aug 29, 2023, at 3:03 PM, Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes > wrote: > > I bought a pair of power tools and batteries a coupla years ago from Home > Depot mostly because the batteries had lifetime warranties. Re: [MBZ] OT Ridgid Rant
Maybe 20yr ago I was using a Milwaukee drill up on a ladder about 15ft to put in some screws when I hear what sounded like a gunshot right in my ear. I about fell off the ladder. The NiCad or NiMH battery had exploded. I got home and called Milwaukee and they sent another one immediately and wanted that one back. I then learned that there was a recall on these batteries because they would explode. I didn’t report it because they were good about it. I went through a bunch of those, they didn’t last long. The last ones were chinee I guess. I don’t think they’re available anymore so I have a nice tool with no power. I have a nice makita drill like that too and maybe a craftsman. --FT Sent from iFōn > On Aug 29, 2023, at 7:16 PM, dan penoff.com via Mercedes > wrote: > > Good to know, sorry you’re getting ghosted. > > Makes me glad I’ve got Milwaukee stuff.
