I Called Essex Monday and they were out of stock (PBR Rubber Grease) until the
end of the week. Essex Price was $7.50 +$6 shipping. So I ordered it from
Pegasus and they sent me a tracking # by the end of the day!
I'll let you know how it works, as soon as I find out why the seals were
not in the box of parts ordered from Rusty(worldpack). Russ

Kind of annoying that stuff can't be sourced easily over here.
Stuff's not exactly cheap but I suppose a little goes a long way.
Wonder what, if anything, the commercial rebuilders use, probably
brake fluid...

Sil-Glide is not an assembly paste, Herman. It has no place in the
piston/cylinder assembly. I've tried several times over the years to
find a proper brake cylinder paste as is listed in many manufacturers'
manuals, always with no success at all. Not familiar with any other
of the products you've listed but I suspect that they're all
anti-squeel products. If you do run across a true brake cylinder
assembly paste I'd purely love to hear about it even though I've never
encountered any problems with using brake fluid during assembly.
