Remove and reinstall after cleaning - should do the trick.

Yes, these can be brought back to life with a good cleaning.  On my 123
wagon, I removed the stalk and took it apart for cleaning, to restore the
wiper function.  End cap can be pried off.

On my 124 sedan, the optical horn contacts are at the base of the stalk.
Didn't have to remove it, just pop off the cover at the base and spay
deoxit on the revealed contacts.

That's what DBAG calls the flash function on the stalk.
It has its own fuse, though it's shared with other functions.

Usually corroded contacts.  If you can see them, spray them down with  
DeOxit or some other contact cleaner and cycle them a while, usually  
clears up the problem.


Mine doesn't work on the 300D but I'm too lazy to fix them.
