[Possible Goofy Fix Found for Missing PlayStopped]
I am using whatever underlying engine is included with Rev 2.03, and I
don't seem to be having problems with PlayStopped messages. I have a
stack that relies upon that message extensively (it plays movies in
succession), but then again you didn't say that you were trying to play
video files. This is important to me, since I could not use a newer
version of Rev until this problem (and the other one that prevents
controller updates on audio QT players in OS X standalones) were to be
fixed.

OracleCard=OMO?

Is this the same product that was known as Oracle Media Objects?

[ANN] ClipLinkViewer, MIDI Builder

2002-08-15 Thread Kurt Kaufman

ClipLinkViewer is an application which will play in succession all video
clips within a selected folder (directory). Clips within the folder may
also be viewed individually. Compatible video formats include avi, mov,
dv, mpg and mp4. ClipLinkViewer is designed for conveniently viewing the
video output of (primarily still-photo) digital cameras, which typically
consists of many short video clips. Please note that ClipLinkViewer does
not alter, or change the location of any files on your computer.

MIDI Builder enables the creation of 1- to 4-voice MIDI files without
the need for an external keyboard, sound module or sequencer.

Both of the above applications are being released soon as shareware,
but are presently being offered free-of-charge to Runtime Revolution and
MetaCard list subscribers. Naturally, both applications were produced
with Revolution! Any comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated
(off-list).

Midi xcmds

2002-07-06 Thread Kurt Kaufman

...so you can send [MIDI data], and will be able to receive
later

The routines allow you to produce MIDI files by step-entry on an
on-screen keyboard, but at this point not by recording live performance
on an external keyboard. You can then open those MIDI files in a
sequencer, but the routines don't send the data to a specific port.
The idea is that others will be able to modify the routines to suit
their needs as well.

Midi xcmds

2002-07-05 Thread Kurt Kaufman

You must have missed the discussion with Scott about this on the
HyperCard list -- the short answer is, no. The long answer is: it
could be done if someone were willing to learn the MIDI file format and
write the script-to-binary translations. Also, the main requirement is
that the person who tackles this project must be intrepid. :)

I don't know how intrepid I am, but I have written some script-to-binary
MIDI translation routines for Runtime Revolution. Note that at this
time these are used in static, or step-time MIDI event entry (via a
custom GUI), and do not access MIDI data external to RunRev (file or
stream). However, MIDI files thus produced are compatible with the
Standard MIDI 1.0 spec. and can be played by MIDI sequencers and
devices. Once we have these routines incorporated into RunRev, I'll post
an announcement to this list as well.
