RE: b bit icon in standalones
you dont need a programmer to make a shortcut but you do need valuable programmers to make nice shortcuts (like on a mac!) Actually that's how I learned to use HyperCard, replacing the finder! ;)) > -Original Message- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Klaus Major > Sent: Friday, December 13, 2002 8:53 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: b bit icon in standalones > > > Hi MrX, > > > > > The easiest way (around this) is to make a shortcut and use a custom > > icon on it... > > > > I also asked this and it's also impossible... > > > > Then again, you can re-write the desktop in MC, launch me in startup > > and > > then use strictly any image as an icon ;)) > > ... > launch MrX with new_desktop > ... > > gives this error (with or without quotes): > > Developer not defined > error description: unknown developer > > Too bad... > > > Au revoir ;-) > > Klaus Major > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > ___ > metacard mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://lists.runrev.com/mailman/listinfo/metacard > ___ metacard mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.runrev.com/mailman/listinfo/metacard
Re: b bit icon in standalones
Hi MrX, The easiest way (around this) is to make a shortcut and use a custom icon on it... I also asked this and it's also impossible... Then again, you can re-write the desktop in MC, launch me in startup and then use strictly any image as an icon ;)) ... launch MrX with new_desktop ... gives this error (with or without quotes): Developer not defined error description: unknown developer Too bad... Au revoir ;-) Klaus Major [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ metacard mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.runrev.com/mailman/listinfo/metacard

I have seen some Windows programs that have separate .ico files in their folders and presumably the application is using that icon, but I don't know how it is done (a registry entry, maybe?) I asked once if MC could be updated to allow 8-bit icons, because that's really the standard these days, but apparently it would require too many changes to the MC file format to be practical. I have some beautiful Mac icons for my apps that I can't use in Windows, which is a shame. If anyone knows whether a registry setting would allow the use of 8-bit icons, I'd very much like some instructions. -- Jacqueline Landman Gay | [EMAIL PROTECTED] HyperActive Software | http://www.hyperactivesw.com ___ metacard mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.runrev.com/mailman/listinfo/metacard
Re: b bit icon in standalones
Hi all, it's easier to import gifs or jpgs than icons... on windows, theres' a few nice programs but I'd recommend Iconbook. dont know the url of hand... browse and export... that easy... windows only probably... on the Mac, GifConverter (mac only, german program with a grey icon and a house?) was great... both do batch conversions i think... Hi all, has anybody ever successfully installed a 8 bit icon into a standalone after building it with MC ? If yes, how did you do this ? What windows icon-editing app can so so ? (Not necessarily freeware ;-) Thanks a lot in advance. Regards from germany Klaus Major [EMAIL PROTECTED] sorry, it looks like i was not clear enough.
