[meteorite-list] Dash cam video of 12-26-13 Fireball event IA/MO/MN/IL and others
300 + miles and nearly due south of the New Liberty, IA security camera a MHP police dashcam video presumably while heading slightly east of due north on US Highway 65 just south of Sedalia, MO. Timestamp is absent http://www.kctv5.com/story/24316622/dash-cam-captures-meteor-speeding-through-thursdays-sky and a brand new event in MN near midnight with lots of sonic reports, so lots of sighting of meteors all over. __ Visit the Archives at http://www.meteorite-list-archives.com Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list
Re: [meteorite-list] [off topic]: Does anyone know how to edit fonts?
There are many font editors floating around out there, some free, most with free trial periods. To do a proper job you need both a good editor and a fair knowledge of font design principles. But if you only need to make some simple mods to an existing font, try the Private Font Editor that is installed as a component of Windows. You can select a font, copy individual existing characters, modify them, and save them to a new character code. [meteorite-list] IA Event 26 Dec - Data are posted
Howdy all Rather than posting to the Galactic Analytics website, I posted the radar imagery to the Galactic Analytics Facebook page instead. It is available for all to see. If you haven't already "liked" the GA Facebook page, just search for Galactic Analytics on Facebook and the result should take you right there - the page is an open group for all to read. So, for this event... The fireball is absolutely gorgeous as the AMS page's video shows. There are a few radar returns that I've picked out, which both lie along the AMS projected path and contain a velocity component. Have a look, and comment on the Facebook page. The snow coverage is apparently fairly significant, so any recovery efforts may have to wait until spring. So we have time to talk over this one. [meteorite-list] Saturday Sale - Ancient Coins with Sacred Stones
Hi List, There are numerous references about certain ancient coins having stones on them that are believed to be meteorites. Some of the coins were minted nearly 1900 years ago. This would make them the earliest known examples of coins with meteorites. On my sale page today I'm offering several of these genuine coins and I have quoted several sources that refer to the stones that "come from the sky" and "have fallen from heaven". http://www.meteoriteusa.com/saturdaysale.htm These coins are interesting to see, hold and own. They have a long history from ancient times and they come fully warrantied without a time limit to be genuine. Free shipping to the USA and Canada $5.00 International / Overseas Have a great weekend.
