Re: [meteorite-list] mail fall or not
Hey Steve You've been PUNKED!! You are correctamundo!! You've caught us red faced. psst...Steve, it was all a setup and you've been punk'd! You, Mike, and Matteo were the only ones on the list that weren't in on it...te he he. It was Mike that we were trying to punk-- We thought he had far too many hours back home and wanted to get him in the air again but that dang Peruvian thing spoiled it. Remember if Mike isn't on expedition very few new meteorites come our way. Mali, Mail, Male, Em Bale, er .. even made my mouth water. It is a keen looking "supposed" meteorite, IF it is a meteorite...I mean, any Bedouin can paint black sides and silver flecks on gravel and most folks would never be the wiser. Since there are only 22 KILOS so far, I'd buy a sixth kilo anyway cause it will be gone in within a couple hours and no more will ever come to market. In fact I think it is just about sold out now while you were deciding... Group opinion has never been an issue before, why stop now? Come on ,Steve, plop down those 6 Benjamin's--you know you want to-- then you can have bragging rights about the deal you got when you put it on EBay, before you discount ...er trade it er you know what I mean. I hope this was help enough. And thank you for consulting the list about a contemplated purchase nice that you value our opinion on something. Your Friend, Eman Buy the way, how's that case of Gao-ut? What makes you think it isn't Guenie-uyine? (wink) Great to have you back and vigorously participating. --- steve arnold <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi there list.I guess before I plop any money down > to buy a piece of this new supposed Any help will be > appreciated before I put down my $600. __ Meteorite-list mailing list Meteorite-list@meteoritecentral.com http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list
Re: [meteorite-list] mail fall or not
Hi Steve, Can someone really give me any sort of guarantee that this is indeed a new meteorite? Yes, it is really very simple. Why not wait until some qualified scientists make a report to the nomenclature committee of the meteoritical society and the results are published in the Meteoritical Bulletin. If no material is turned over to scientists, just walk away. That is the way it used to be done. -Walter Branch - Original Message - From: "steve arnold" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Sunday, October 14, 2007 4:45 PM Subject: [meteorite-list] mail fall or not Hi there list.I guess before I plop any money down to buy a piece of this new supposed mali fall,I really need some concrete evidence that this a real new fall or find.I am getting all different kind of responses about this new meteorite. Can someone really give me any sort of guarantee that this is indeed a new meteorite?I have seen many pictures, some say it is bassikounou being sold, some say it is amagala (oum dreyga),etc. So what is it?I know that when you buy a meteorite, you want it to be what it is.NOTHING ELSE!Meteorites being sold as something else I know will not be tolerated by this elite community.Any help will be appreciated before I put down my $600. steve arnold, chicago Steve R.Arnold, chicago,Ill,Usa!! Re: [meteorite-list] mail fall or not
Steve, what are you looking for from this list? How can any of us provide you with proof that the meteorite is real? Look at the price of Bassikounou, Amgala, Bensour, and Beguerir, all started out high, and have dropped since. I think there is a new fall, but what is the rush? There will be enough to go around. I will buy it next year when the price drops as all of them seem to do in Morocco. I paid $5.00 gram in Morocco for Amgala, I was told that there was only 6 kilos. WRONG, same for Benguerir. It just kept coming. I see no difference with this fall, hundreds of small stones, we all know what will happen. Re: [meteorite-list] mail fall or not
Why are you in such a hurry to spend your $600- before this is sorted out? Chill out for a while. Do the smart thing. Wait. There is going to be plenty of it to go around. Keep in mind that it should not cost any more than a witnessed fall like Bassikounou or Oum Dreyga.
