Re: Bug in pppoe ?
Solved by adding ECHO parameters to ppp.conf: enable lqr set lqrperiod 5 + enable echo + set echoperiod 5 from man ppp: When this option is enabled, ppp will send LCP ECHO requests to the peer at the frequency defined by ``echoperiod''. Note: LQR requests will supersede LCP ECHO re- quests if enabled and negotiated. I think that lqr not supersede echo because it not negotiated win XP and Vista and dead link not eliminated by lqr timeout
pkg_add hangs downloading several packages.
Hi list, using 4.5 I've a little script to add a few packages after a fresh install, basically it's a pkg_add -i a b c line with ~40 packages to install, but at some point after some packages get installed, the connection with the server hangs and nothing happens untill I kill it with Ctrl+c. Don't know if its because my system or the server side, I had running tcpdump and at the moment this happens it shows no packet running (no network activity). I have tried some mirrors and this problem occurs randomly, don't know where to look or what to try. The network works rightly and also if I try to connect with another ftp session to the mirror pkg_add is using, the connection runs OK, nice speed and all. PF is dissabled and the total size of the packages to install its ~200 MB. again, it's a fresh install from the install45.iso of a oficial mirror. Thanks in advance. -Jesus

No drm(4) for RV730 PRO (HD 4650)
Hi. I'm not seeing radeondrm, and consequently no drm, in my dmesg when booting 4.6-current on amd64. The display adapter is a Radeon HD 4650 (RV730 PRO). radeon(4) says it is supported. Any ideas? To work, radeon(4) needs drm support in the kernel, which currently doesn't exist for OpenBSD.

doubts on NFS
Hello list , I am having trouble to make NFS work properly. I don't know what i am doing wrong, maybe someone can enlighten me. Winbind & Samba on OpenBSD
Hiya, I'm considering using OpenBSD in a way that would need to run Samba and Winbind to authenticate users against a windows 2003 active directory. In the searching I've done so far, it doesn't appear like too many folks are using OpenBSD to do this (though there's enough out there to suggest it, nothing really recent though). Thus, I am curious: Is anyone currently successfully running Samba/Winbind on OpenBSD, and if so, is the configuration pretty standard to what Samba/Winbind require on other BSDs? I'd much rather use OpenBSD here than Free, so I'm simply looking for some confirmation that this is possible, workable, and sensible for production use. Thanks! Regards, ~Jason

I've been using Samba successfully for years. The small amount I've used various M$ authentication schemes have also worked OK. Making sure user IDs and so on are congruent across machines is sometimes a pain; once that's set up it works. geoff steckel Omnivore Technology g...@oat.com
