Chrooted apache, htaccess, Order Allow, Deny doesn't work!
Hello wolrd, OpenBSD 4.5 amd64 (with inner ip 192.168.180.122), and client with 192.168.180.123. httpd.conf: Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride All /var/www/htdocs/BASE/.htaccess: Order Allow,Deny Allow from 192.168.180.123 Deny from all i get: Forbidden You don't have permission to access /BASE/ on this server. but, Order Allow,Deny Allow from all Deny from 192.168.180.1 allow me to access, and Order Allow,Deny Allow from all Deny from 192.168.180.123 doesn't. Also, the same configuration on the OpenBSD 4.5 i386 work. Look's like chrooted apache on amd64 obsd4.5 broken.

sound from usb speakers (Logitech v20) - howto?
Hello, I've recently purchased a couple of logitech v20 "USB" speakers to use with my laptop, but I'm not able to get any sound out of it. The sound comes out from the built-in speakers, but nothing comes out from the usb speakers. Any ideas on how to solve this? P.S I'm using current, see dmesg and output of "mixerctl -v" below. Thanks a lot! The USB audio device is attached at audio1. You'll have to use that device to get output. cd into /dev and run MAKEDEV audio1. You can (optionally) change the symlink that is /dev/audio to point to the newly created /dev/audio1 (and do the same for mixer and audioctl). Alternatively, many programs support specifying the audio device on the commandline. Point those at /dev/audio1. Another option would be to change your kernel (config -ef /bsd) and disable azalia. Your regular audio device will not attach and the USB audio device will become audio0. All options have their own advantages and downsides. You'll have to decide what you want to do. flashrd - New OpenBSD installer for flash
Hi, It's my birthday, so I decided to release a little rewrite of flashdist that I've been working on. It addresses the two major shortcomings of flashdist (in light of the fact that an 8GB usb key costs $20 now) First, it installs a _complete_ OpenBSD system, that runs in read-only (or read-write if you want) mode. There's no 'distribution lists' to keep track of nor custom build environment. It's a full, almost default system with default /etc/rc (ok, a bootstrap script does have to run before /etc/rc.) Second, you can upgrade the system just by copying a few files to the flash (and keep multiple versions on the same flash.) Check out the home page and FAQ if it sounds useful to you. http://www.nmedia.net/flashrd/ http://www.nmedia.net/flashrd/flashrd-faq.html Also there are ready-made i386 and amd64 disk images to try, see http://www.nmedia.net/flashrd/images/ They run under qemu too. You can even pack up an existing, running server with flashrd (just mount it to /mnt and run ./flashrd /mnt) and create images of that for whatever purpose. (I thought the idea was cool, anyways.) xkb: how to map Shift-Backspace to '|'?
As xmodmap doesn't work anymore, I'm trying to switch to xkb. I hacked /etc/X11/xkb/symbols/us to make the laptop keyboard more like a Unix keyboard: --- us- Mon Jul 20 14:56:22 2009 +++ us Mon Jul 20 15:09:41 2009 @@ -334,10 +334,18 @@ key { [ Multi_key ] }; }; -// defintion which includes both the Windows95 keyboards _and_ +// definition which includes both the Windows95 keyboards _and_ // the extra key on most European keyboards. xkb_symbols "pc105" { include "us(pc104)" + +key { [ grave, asciitilde ] }; +key { [Escape, asciitilde ] }; +override key { [ backslash, bar ] }; +// key { [ backslash, bar ] }; +key { [ BackSpace, bar ] }; +key { [ grave, asciitilde ] }; + key { [ less,greater ] }; }; xkb_symbols "pc105euro" { This works reasonably well except for Shift-Backspace: it produces '\' not '|'. Is there some trick to get the desired result? PS: I tried it also without "override" (which I took from the apple file), but that doesn't work either.
