ACPI suspend/resume state

2009-03-15 Thread alemao
Hi,

What's the state of ACPI suspend/resume today in OpenBSD?
I really appreciate all the work that you great developers are doing
to add support to new hardware, new or rewritten network services and
stuff like that, but i don't see any desire to support ACPI
suspend/resume.
There's something that 'normal' users can do to helps it's development
(donations, hardware, etc...)?

Thanks.

Azalia - Realtek/0x0885 - plays, but no sound

2008-06-10 Thread alemao
Hi,

The card is recognized OK and i see that mplayer (with or without
-srate 48000) plays the sound, but i can't hear anything.
I played with many options in mixerctl but no success at all.

Maybe because it's sharing IRQ with other devices?

$ vmstat -i
interrupt total rate
irq0/clock 89681 201
irq0/ipi 10252
irq9/acpi0 910
irq20/uhci0 5002 11
irq21/ehci0 30
irq20/azalia0 10
irq17/mskc0 18084
irq21/uhci4 52157 117
irq20/ehci1 1010
irq18/pciide14745 10
Total 154614 347

Here's my dmesg, mixerctl -a and audioctl -a.

http://sacodelixo.com.br/~alemao/dmesg.txt
http://sacodelixo.com.br/~alemao/audioctl.txt
http://sacodelixo.com.br/~alemao/mixerctl.txt

Any help/tip would be nice.

Thanks.

All memory not recognized (4GB) - AMD64 Snapshot, Macbook 3,1

2008-05-13 Thread alemao
Hi,

I installed OpenBSD/amd64 snapshot on a Macbook 3,1 (Late 2007).
It recognizes both processors but not all memory (3GB instead of 4).
There's something i can do?

Thanks,

Markus,

It worked fine here. And i got a lot of increase in I/O subsystem.

# dd if=/dev/rsd0f of=/dev/null bs=1024k
^C243+0 records in
243+0 records out
254803968 bytes transferred in 4.318 secs (59004868 bytes/sec)
# expr 59004868 / 1024

I was getting just 1 MB/s. BTW, this machine i use day by day, and gonna
report if something go wrong.

patchs to test it's ok.
I need to "set tty com0" at boot.conf and unplug my usb devices from it to
boot (kbd and mouse, this machine don't have PS/2). It's strange, after the
bootloader timeouts and start to load kernel, it stops at "entry point
xxx" and then i need to type something to load the kernel.. w/o usb
devices, it boot fine.

below is dmesg

Re: pciide: ATI IXP 600 SATA

2007-04-16 Thread alemao
Hi Jonathan,

With the patch, it finds the device, but no hard disks at all. I could send
you a dmesg but it passes ahci and i can't see the messages it gives me.
Then it enters on ddb> and i cannot type (usb keyboard is not ready yet at
this level).

There's something i can do to it stops just after ahci loads, so i can write
the messages somewhere?

Thanks.

Hi,

Is there any progress to support DMA on this chipset?
I successfully boot 4.1-current in a Dell OptiPlex 320. Everything are
working fine, inclusive both processors (Pentium4-D) using ACPI.

I attached my dmesg.

Thanks in advance.

slow dvd copy on 4.1

2007-03-10 Thread alemao
I'm copying some stuff from a dvd+rw and getting just about 4 MB/s. I can
set/tune something to increase this?
Using another BSD (nbsd/fbsd) i get the normal throughput, about 20 MB/s.
