Re: seamonkey error
There was a linking issue at some point (a soname thing) that we had a patch for, you might want to look in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1107063 - maybe we're missing a patch for seamonkey there that got commited upstream but since seamonkey has releng issues those days they dont make releases... (sorry, cant work on this until a while. And please, next time, post this to ports@, not to garbage^Wmisc@) Landry On Sat, May 23, 2015 at 1:06 PM, Stuart Henderson wrote: > On 2015-05-22, David Coppa wrote: >> On Fri, May 22, 2015 at 4:20 PM, Eivind Eide wrote: >>> No, sorry. I've tried everything I can think of tracking it down. I would appreciate some pointers. It's seamonkey-2.33.1 on i386 and this is the error message it throws when I try to start it: XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/local/lib/seamonkey-2.33.1/../../ldap/sdks/c-sdk/ldap/libraries/libldap/libldap60.so.41.0: File not found Couldn't load XPCOM. If anybody have some ideas I'm very grateful. I can confirm this as well (on amd64), with an identical error message from seamonkey (and persisting across a nuke-and-pave reinstall from a fresh snapshot a few weeks or so ago, done for unrelated reasons).

There is sometimes a chance you might hit a mirror mid-update, but that one looks ok at present..

What exactly are you typing? What mirror URL are you using (either set in PKG_PATH or in /etc/pkg.conf)?

The FAQ has a way explaining how not to do it. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I didn't mean that I used a linux method; I used the "proven methods" for upgrading -current and packages - twice with different snapshots. Do not assume! You have mixed things, that is way you get errors. Stay with the proven methods and don't move to the alternative ways of doing things. Now, the base system must go hand in hand with packages. You broke that handshake. The FAQ has a way explaining how not to do it.
