RE: [mk2-16v] Injector hose repair

2015-06-29 Thread Larry Velez
Do you mean one of the hoses feeding the fuel rail?
Like this: http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/2010/fsstuff008ie5.jpg

In any case, I would think since our Motronic/CIS relies so much on the right
fuel pressure that trying to repair this hose might cause problems.

Why not replace the whole hose with the same size fuel system hose?

Maybe someone knows if parts like these are still available from VW..

Techtonics Tuning sells fuel hose by the foot and they know this engine well
(or at least used to), I bet a call to them and you'll get the right hose to
replace it:
http://techtonicstuning.com/main/index.php?main_page=indexcPath=2_12_794

Good luck and do tell us how it goes,

My 250W halogen work light/garage heater went and melted a hole in an injector
hose (not while it was installed). Can I repair it with hose and clamps? If so
what should I do and/or NOT do? Hose type, brand, clamps, kits, any advice will
help.
Thanks,
Steve

It's the hose between the fuel distributor and the injector, I need to figure

I asked him about mixing CIS-E and Motronic components, (it's what I've got) he
said to get him part numbers of fuel dist., injectors etc and he'll be able to

RE: [mk2-16v] Injector hose repair

2015-06-29 Thread Larry Velez
In this diagram (useful Bentley content online it seems) it simply says
‘Injection Line’. Part Metal / Part Hose with Banjo bolts on both ends,
which is probably why it’s hard to find. Would be good to know if there was a
new alternative to the OEM part or if VW Classics carries it. I’ll see what I
can dig up.

Seems some people are using adapters to try to use fuel lines from other cars.

Re: [mk2-16v] Injector hose repair

2015-06-29 Thread Josh
Hi guys,

I haven't had a 16v in a decade.. now heavily playing with my Mk4 R32 and W12
Phaeton,... but on my old CIS-M 16v, the original fuel lines were cracked. I
replaced them with fuel line and hose clamps on the existing metal and the car
ran fine for many years. There is plenty of rubber fuel lines capable of the
pressure required. No need to look for obsolete parts.

[mk2-16v] Injector hose repair

2015-06-28 Thread Steven Arguello
My 250W halogen work light/garage heater went and melted a hole in an injector
hose (not while it was installed). Can I repair it with hose and clamps? If so
what should I do and/or NOT do? Hose type, brand, clamps, kits, any advice will
help.
Thanks,
Steve
