I already said that if you are using Motorola or nexus device, its a
bug. U can't do anything of this problem, hopefully in next android
version this bug will be taken care of.

Hi Mr. Sharma, that's fine. Android is all about self learning and
experiments. I have never encountered this problem as most often I put
my phone on vibrate mode. Although we can manage the android, a lot of
technics are still required to enjoy its all features. Keep learning
and please do share your ideas with us.

Hello,
1. pressing the volume button in either direction should mute the ring.
You must then explore the screen either at the top or about a quarter from
the bottom of the screen.

Yes you can only mute the ringtone by pressing the power button and
after which you need to touch the screen to identify the caller. Since
you have checked the check box to disconnect the calls using power
button, it will disconnect the call if you press twice. I was
suggesting this as you asked the way to mute the ringtone. Sorry if I
have misguided you without understanding your actual problem.

2014-05-22 Thread Surya Prakash Sharma
Hello,
Thanks for the various suggestions. I tried them one by one and found
the following:
1. if we use the volume button to mute the ringtone in the upper side
the volume of the media reaches to 100 per cent. on the other side the
volume goes down to 0 per cent.
2. if we use the power key to disconnect a call, we can not use it to
mute ringtone.
3. if we do not use the power key to disconnect a call and try to mute
the ringtone, we will have to press it twice: first time to mute the
music and second time to unlock the screen. then we can know the
caller by tapping on the upper left corner of the screen.
alternatively, I set the media volume of the phone at around 50% and
talkback volume at 75% of the media volume. in this case we can listen
talkback with the ringtone music. we can also read the caller's name
by tapping on the upper left side of the screen.

this is my experience with 'Moto E'. any other trick or wayout is also welcomed.
thanks again for the support and cooperation.
Sps

Re: [Mobile.AI] How to reduce or mute ringtone volume to know who is calling?

2014-05-21 Thread Rahul Kelapure
Your question is not very clear to me Sweety, however, considering you
are using recent version of Android, I can say the following on the
matter.

The phone announces the caller anyway, but you may not hear it because
the ringtone volume is equal to that of the Talkback volume.
Therefore it is a good idea to keep the option of swiping to right to
recieve the call and left to regect the call.
one may swipe up for regecting the call with SMS.
Hope that helps.

Thanks and warm regards,

Rahul.

2014-05-21 Thread Mohib Anwar Rafel
Note: if u are using nexus 5 or moto g, while your phone is ringing,
pressing volume up butten will set the music volume upto 100%, while
pressing volume down butten will make music volume including talkback
volume to 0%. This is a bug in Motorola and nexus devices. What I do
in my moto g, I press power butten to silant the ringer and touch the
left top of the screen to listen who is calling. If u touch in upper
middle, it will give few options, like send message etc.
