[MMouse]: sleepwalk
the song sleepwalk, i believe, was originally performed by a group called santo & johnny, two brothers from either the bronx or brooklyn--one of the ny boroughs. an interested bit of mm relatedness, on the b-side of the sleepwalk single, on the canadian american label, if i remember correctly, is a song called all night diner. if you're persistent, you can find the single on ebay for around 5-10 dollars, a must for the true mm fanatic. adrian
[MMouse]: degrassi high
although i never saw degrassi high, as any self respecting skankin' pickle fan (former, in my case) should know. they had a song called "i'm in love with a girl named spike" whom aparently was a character on the show. i can't remember the words now, but i used to love that song. adrian
[MMouse]: RE: harmonics
zach you can create harmonics with a guitar by picking a string while holding your finger gently over certain frets. depending on which fret you finger, the harmonics vary in intensity. the loudest are probably 5, 7 and 12 (octave). make sure that you finger the string directly over the fret marker. it takes a little practice, but can sound pretty cool. issac uses harmonics a lot. an easy one to learn is teeth like god's shoeshine, which goes something like (and i haven't written tab in a while), but harmonics are in parentheses. the bend at the end is achieved with a whammy bar. (he uses a whammy bar on dramamine also) E --- B --- G --- D ---(7)-(4) A ---(5)(5)- E 7-(5)--(7)b6--b6-- (repeat) here's the man with . . . hope this helps. i could probably figure out trucker's atlas if you can't find it anywhere else. adrian

[MMouse]: bright eyes
i saw bright eyes at lewis and clark, the night before they played at ej's. i got there late, but it was s good. the show started at nine, i got there at nine thirty and around nine fifty conner said something about how they never play that long. they were selling the new cd . . . it's really good, except there is this kind of psuedo-interview thing at the end of the album that is kind of stupid, kind of like "i used to walk around with a saftey pin and when no one was paying attention i would dig it into my arm until i started to cry" "so you liked attention?" "no, i hate it when people look at me, it makes me sick." i dunno, other than that, it is really good and i would recommend that everyone buy it. and see them if at all possible. adrian

[MMouse]: Best shows
As far as my favorite shows, just thought I'd throw my two cents in: Elvis Costello at the Hult Center in Eugene Modest Mouse and IQU (then ICU) at the Crystal Ballroom The Music Tapes and Olivia Tremor Control at 17 Nautical Miles The New Bad Things and Matthew Hattie Hein at 17 Nautical Miles The Spice Girls at the Rose Garden (yes, I saw them, and yes, they were amazing) Also, add one to those who call the fair city of Portland, OR, home. (close your eyes and you'll see nothing at all or maybe it's just Eeverything at once) Adrian
[MMouse]: Portland show
