ieah, it must be tough, living in LA, seeing all those celebs. here in
Tulsa, OK the biggest celebrity we've gotten recently is Willie Tyler and
Lester at the local comedy club.

i'm going.

so very sad.

Re: [MMouse]:Howdy (was: magnolia/uberjew - the daughter of moses!)

2000-07-12 Thread Jake

howdy, new to the list, figured i'd start off right with something not
having to do with modest mouse. two things, real quick.

first, robert altman should also be remembered for M*A*S*H. great fucking
movie. everything that's come after nashvillle has been dissapointing (my
friends and i walked out of cookie's fortune, cause we figured we already
knew how it would end, and why bother watching the rest of a shitty movie?
and the less said abotu pret a porter, the better [except does anyone
remember the music video that came out with the movie? i've been trying to
remember who did it. it was a black guy, kind of reggae, i think, and he
would rap while the background would stop and start moving. so bad it's
good.])

second, i thought the whole point of magnolia was just how darkly funny
life can be. i like P.T. Anderson, hard eight was ver' cool. but magnolia
kind of left me cold in the end. i mean, the frogs and all that were neat,
but some parts were just really dumb. the aimee mann sing-a-long comes to
mind. what kind of bullshit is that? that's like something they would do
on "friends".
