Adoption of Abandoned CPAN Distributions from Artur Bergman
Hello, I would like to adopt Artur Bergman's abandoned CPAN distributions, the most recent releases of which range from 13 to 20 years old: https://metacpan.org/author/ABERGMAN I first attempted to contact Artur via e-mail in 2012, but received no reply. I tried to contact him again in 2020 via Facebook and this year via LinkedIn, but still have received no reply now 10 years after my initial try. >From what I can find, it seems that Artur has moved on from Perl a long time ago, and is now focused on his non-Perl company Fastly: https://www.fastly.com/blog/author-artur-bergman https://www.bloomberg.com/profile/person/18673454 Also, apparently Artur is now extremely wealthy with a reported net worth of $219M, so he probably isn't concerned with CPAN any more: https://www.benzinga.com/sec/insider-trades/fsly/artur-bergman I have recently communicated with Reini Urban, who last released a development version of one of Artur's modules in 2011: https://metacpan.org/release/RURBAN/types-0.05_04 Reini and I have collaborated together on Perl projects in the past, and he said he is fully supportive of my attempt to adopt Artur's CPAN distributions. I am a committed contributor to CPAN and an active member of the Perl community: https://metacpan.org/author/WBRASWELL https://www.youtube.com/c/YAPCNA/search?query=braswell Can you please tell me, what is the official process for me to adopt Artur's CPAN distributions as the primary maintainer, so that I can fix bugs and release new upgraded versions etc? PAUSE Permissions, Parse::Yapp
Hi Neil, Copied on this e-mail is Francois Desarmenien, original creator of the Parse::Yapp module on CPAN. His PAUSE username is FDESAR and his old, now-expired e-mail address is: franc...@fdesar.net I was able to get in touch with him via Facebook under his pseudonym "Camille Pelletan": https://www.facebook.com/camille.pelletan.7 Francois has now retired from Perl and I will be inheriting Parse::Yapp, but unfortunately he is unable to log into PAUSE because his old e-mail address is no longer valid, and so he can't recover his old PAUSE password. Can you please help him get his PAUSE account changed over to his current e-mail address? f.de...@free.fr Thanks! Perling,~ Will the Chill
Re: PAUSE Permissions, Apache::FileManager & Apache2::FileManager
Hi Neil, Thanks for the excellent info, I do appreciate it! :-) Perling,~ Will the Chill On 1/14/2017 at 10:51 AM, "Neil Bowers" wrote:Hi Will, I'm the new maintainer for the Apache::FileManager and Apache2::FileManager distributions. I am listed as the "first come" while DAVVID is "modulelist". Unlike A::FM, I am listed as "owner" for only 1 entry, while DAVVID is listed as "owner" for his A2::FM permission entry. Can you please explain why DAVVID is listed as modulelist instead co-maint? And also, why am I listed as owner on both A::FM permission entries, but only on 1 of the A2::FM entries? If you look in 06perms.txt (the export from PAUSE which says what the permissions are), you’ll see that the entries for A2::FM are: Apache2::FileManager,DAVVID,cApache2::FileManager,WBRASWELL,f PAUSE showing DAVVID as modulelist is left-over from before we removed the module-list permissions. You are the effective owner, as only first-come and co-maint are considered now. Once someone with PAUSE internals knowledge has the tuits, these parts of the PAUSE UI will be updated to remove all the module-list perms stuff. Cheers,Neil

Re: Inline::Filters CPAN Maintenance
Yes please give Reini (and/or myself) maintainer privileges for the Inline::Filters distribution. Neil Watkiss is long gone, we've tried contacting him for months with no reply. Also, Anselmo Canfora (ACANFORA) is working with me to fix the Inline::Filters bug(s), which is why he's involved. Thanks,~ Will, RPerl Creator On 3/28/2014 at 10:17 AM, Reini Urban wrote:There was no answer from Neil on pending Inline::Filters bugs and the unofficial uploads to fix them.
